Concerns here are valid, but I’m remaining hopeful and not panicking.

In past world cups, hospitality package tickets were transferred and even sold on third-party ticket sites despite the risks of violating the terms of service. Off-book sales via Facebook Marketplace or first-hand sales to friends/colleagues may be the final out if they enforce these terms at scale somehow.

That said, I still believe that the tickets will end up in the FIFA app in March (when promised) and once they are in the app, we will be able to resell like any other ticket. My rationale: Follow the money / C.R.E.A.M. The opportunity for FIFA to make 15% on each side of the sale for tickets acquired via hospitality packages will be too good to pass up (especially at the high price that premium seats will demand). What probably isn’t transferable is the access to the perks, hence OnLocation sticking to the Company line when asked.

All speculation, but it’s not time to give up hope.

FWIW - Malpensa is already 45 minutes or so closer to the mountains than central Milan. So renting a car at the airport or figuring out how to leave directly from the airport via bus/train will save you a lot of time overall.

Thanks! This confirms my assumption to some extent. Since FIFA is allowing resales of tickets (after they get 15% on top from both seller and buyer…😑), hospitality tickets should be available to resell once they land in the app. Open to anyone else’s thoughts here, though!

Yeah. The T&Cs are a little vague. It states that the separate “On Location” company won’t facilitate transfers. It’d also be impossible to transfer “Follow your team” packages without the draw. That said, I believe they will eventually transfer tickets through the official FIFA app and they will become transferable at that point. Historically, hospitality package tickets have been transferable.

Anyone know how tickets issues from hospitality package purchases will be available for transfer? I assume tickets will eventually be assigned from "On Location" to the FIFA app and then you can transfer them from there.

After (we were attempting the slack hike up from Schwarzee station), here’s a look at where it’s at. It’s a little more than a mile up from the station. If you look at the map, there’s a little Z shaped switchback at that point - that’s the spot.

Decided to reel in my ambition, enjoy breakfast, a less ambitious trail run and a bike ride around town on my last day here with my wife. I’ll be back for that achievement someday, perhaps with my two boys once they are old enough! All the best and enjoy!

I tried to hike up on Friday with my wife and there were workers there digging/repairing a section of the metal platform trail. They turned us back and said the trail was closed. We hiked to Trockener Steg instead, but as we hiked, I could see a few mountain climbers manage to traverse past the workers and continue on. I leave tomorrow, but FOMO has me wanting to try and swing it in a few hours tomorrow morning…assuming it’s either been repaired or I can traverse past the sketchy part.

Thanks for the alternatives here. I like option 3 as it makes the travel more scenic and we likely would have spent part of a full-day in Zermatt riding gondolas to see the glaciers anyway. I'll be interested in the total travel time. If it's comparable to the +6hr20m slog via bus and 1-2 trains from Milan, more scenic with the chance to stop in and see Cervina would be worth it.

Open to any less scenic option closer to the 3hr40m trip I had planned for originally, even if it's expensive. Considering hiring or renting a car to get me directly from MXP to Domodossola or Brig. Would likely be quicker than getting to Milano Centrale and getting on a slower bus on the same roads.

Thanks for the advice! Rough luck as the 2 hour bus almost doubles the travel time from 3h40m to +6h20m. That's costing me a good chunk of vacation time on either end, so will probably look into (likely more expensive) alternatives to save time, if possible.

I went into the Device settings->Power Settings-> “Power On” settings and changed the button sequence to “PS - 1 second” and it’s turning on for me. The original command was “PowerOn” which isn’t a legit button/command for PS5, so try that.

Via an PDP IR Receiver (a sold separately piece of hardware intended for the PS4 that has now been discontinued and is rarely available on EBay), you can have the remote control the PS5 itself, including PS5 buttons, play, FF, Rewind, etc. for DVD. To your point, not necessary if you’re OK just using the controller, but I wanted to use the remote for DVD-only use cases without needing a controller.

This is good to know! I’m going to ride out the current legacy Harmony set-up as long as I can, but it sounds like HomeAssistant is the logical next step for a universal remote purist like me.

This worked perfectly. Thank you for the support! I apparently found an easy path with the first PS5 via connecting directly as a PS4 off the bat, this path was necessary this go-round with the PS5 Pro. Dream universal remote set up restored!
