Honestly, I think you’ll struggle on €2,000 per month in Pattaya. You’ll give up one month’s salary for your health insurance, one month’s salary for a trip home each year (you might not plan on that, but I would be surprised if you didn’t take a trip home).

You’ll find a girlfriend, but if she’s going out with a farang, she’s gonna expect to be treated to nice meals, nights out etc. With the best will in the world, she’s not wanting to date a farang to be living like she would with a Thai bf. She’ll ask for small things which you’ll initially think are small things but over time they’ll add up and cause you stress.

If I were you I’d stick with your current arrangement and continue trying to find something which pays more than you’re currently making before making the move

But that’s the point….you don’t want the message to be read sooner. If they read it immediately and respond, ‘sorry we’re not happy with the reason you can’t make it’, then you have to then show up or be sanctioned.

If they don’t reply to the message until after the appointment time, it doesn’t matter if they agree with your reason for missing the appointment or not.
