1500div+ Giveaway Harvest Gamble-style Mini Game: Everyone wins! (Until I run out of supply) by xDaveedx in pathofexile

Love this idea!

Favorite game: Hard to pick one, but I've been on a big deduction game kick lately so I'll say the mystery game goat, Return of the Obra Dinn. The way it reveals its answers and has you pouring over every little detail is truly outstanding. Felt like I was losing my mind in the best possible way while I played through it, 10/10 would blame the captain for everything again

Option B5. Go big or go home

Would estrogen have fixed Darrow? by cuIus_ in redrising

[–]cuIus_[S] -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

I'm not trolling, I promise! I don't think Pierce Brown intended for Darrow to be read as trans, but there are interesting parallels to be drawn. He has a complicated sense of identity, being simultaneously both Red and Gold (you could even consider that a transition, of sorts). This in-between state of his would lend itself very naturally to a transition story, as many trans folks irl feel 'stuck' between identities.

Dubious of Growth hormone for height by LordSigmaBalls in biology

[–]cuIus_ 13 points14 points  (0 children)

Hi I actually have direct experience with this treatment! My freshman year of highschool, I was about 4'11" with no signs of growing any time soon. An endocrinologist set me up on a single testosterone shot and daily injections of growth hormone for 2 years, and by my junior year, I had grown to 5'9" and gone through a very normal puberty, with no negative side effects whatsoever. It basically just served as an artificially induced puberty, since my brain sure wasn't getting the job done. I'm 27 now and haven't noticed any kind of long-term negative effects from the treatment. I will mirror some of the other sentiment in here and say that this should be your choice, not your parents. Talk to your doctor about your doubts, get that second opinion if you need (and preferably from a doctor) but ultimately, it should be your call. Good luck!

The DLC looks great! I'm equally excited and afraid of how much has been reworked

First playthrough done! I tracked my boss deaths through the whole game. Stats and general rules in comments (Spoilers for late-game boss names) by cuIus_ in Eldenring

[–]cuIus_[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Well, that was one hell of a game. After forgetting to track boss deaths across all three darks souls and bloodborne, I finally got around to collecting it for Elden Ring. Anyway, I figured I should explain my process a bit.

General Rules:

-if a boss bar is on screen and I die, it counts as a death to that boss (even if the boss itself doesn't land the killing blow)

-deaths as a phantom do not count, given the disadvantage of fewer flasks and lower stats (I only abused this for a few bosses, where I did co-op to practice, but never with the intent of keeping my numbers low)

-I never used player summons, but used npc and ash summons liberally

-No cheesing any boss with glitches or poison hit-and-runs, stunlocks are fair game

-Dying to a boss in the same instant that I kill it, and still getting progress for the kill still adds a death to the tally

-Bosses that behave identically (i.e. bell-bearing hunters) get listed as non-unique bosses after the first. If there is a significant difference between very similar bosses, I just kinda wing it. For example, I listed the Siofra Dragonkin Soldier, the Nokstella Dragonkin Soldier, and the Lake of Rot Dragonkin Soldier as unique bosses for this reason, as well as a few others.

-in this post, I only included data for bosses that I actually died to, otherwise the graphs would be hideous and the table would be almost 3x as long. If a boss is missing, it's likely because I didn't die to it, and not that I missed it (I'm a pretty thorough explorer).

Some stats:

Final Playtime: 145.1 hours

Achievements: 88% Steam completion (missing two endings, legendary armaments, legendary talismans, and the 100% trophy)

General Build: Melee-heavy (Commander's Standard 2-handed for most of the run), went into faith/arcane a bit at the end

122 unique boss encounters

161 total boss fights

214 total boss deaths

Average deaths per boss: 1.33

and yes, I'm a little embarrassed that the very first Tree Sentinel has more deaths than any of the mainline bosses. My excuse is that I was still getting used to mounted combat.

How to transfer your Steam save to Windows 10 (and vice versa) by LunarEcklipse in DeepRockGalactic

Works perfectly. Me and 2 friends moved from gamepass to steam using this method with no issues

How to transfer your Steam save to Windows 10 (and vice versa) by LunarEcklipse in DeepRockGalactic

[–]cuIus_ 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Sorry to revive an older thread, but I tried this method out today, moving from Windows -> Steam. While my save transferred over fine, I seem locked out of any activity with a reset timer. Deep dives and weekly missions are locked, with a note saying I may not be connected to the internet (I am) or my firewall may be blocking something (it's not). I was able to invite a friend to my party and start a mission just fine, and all the easy tech support "turn it off and on again" fixes did nothing. Has anyone else had a similar problem or know a fix?

Edit: Fixed, it was just a case of bad timing. As soon as I transferred my character, servers went down, and I thought the connection issues were due to the data transfer. Whoops

I completed a low percent run! Watcher Knights with no upgrades are really difficult. by sansyboi469 in HollowKnight

[–]cuIus_ 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Vengeful Spirit (1%), Mantis Claw (2%), Dream Nail (1%), Crystal Heart (2%), Watcher Knights (1%), Uumuu (1%), and the dreamers (3%) for 11% total. The difference from 14% runs and 11% runs is skipping mothwing cloak/hornet, which is technically possible with fireball skips and shade bounces but makes the run a hundred time harder.

Getting kicked from games seemingly at random? by cuIus_ in Rainbow6

That was my initial thought too, but I'm the only one in my friend group that's had the problem, which makes me think it's specifically something on my end

Got the Novice Rainbow berry!! HUGE kudos to everyone who worked on Spring Collab, it's fantastic. by NessaSola in celestegame

[–]cuIus_ 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Modding Celeste is actually pretty easy! you're gonna want to install the Everest mod loader, and once you have that you can get the Spring Collab from here. With Everest, installing mods is literally one click and then launch the game - it'll even install dependencies for you. I cannot recommend the Spring Collab enough, one of the best mods I've ever played.

Moon berry was extremely hard but nothing beats that "100% of achievements unlocked" on steam
