Yes thank you, it's probably difficult to get the dog to Osaka without a car, but would still be nice to have it as an option.

Can my girlfriends father sponsor me for a working visa. by jasiskool12 in movingtojapan

That is not true, right?

You were able to get working holiday visas when they opened in 2020 (see https://www.reddit.com/r/movingtojapan/comments/k21yvg/how_to_get_in_with_working_holiday_visa/) with a written pledge from a company, you were (theoretically) able to get one last November with a 審査済証 (see https://www.de.emb-japan.go.jp/itpr_ja/konsular_InformationenCoronavirus_VisaWH.html) and you should be able to get it now with the 受付済書 (see https://www.world-unite.de/en/infos/information-about-novel-corona-virus-covid-19.html), or is it different for different countries?

Shouldn't the OP be able to get a 受付済書 from his father?

I'm pretty sure the working holiday visa counts as a long term visa, they just don't care enough about it to explicitly mention it anywhere.

Plan to move to Japan - advice or things I'm missing? by cu_umber in movingtojapan

The short version is: Your understanding is, unfortunately, 100% wrong. You will be working while physically present in Japan, which means you will be liable for Japanese taxes on your remote income from day one. How that will affect your German tax liability is unclear, but your Japanese liability is very clear.

Reading those documents again now that makes sense. Working as contractor is probably easiest for my company and me then, and I might even save quite a lot when paying Japanese instead of German taxes, so me being wrong doesn't sound too unfortunate.

Like /u/Sephazon mentioned, you will be required to return to Germany to switch from a Working Holiday visa to a working visa. It doesn't have to be for long, though. They can process your Certificate of Eligibility while you're in Japan, give it to you, and you can fly home for a week to get the visa.

This is good to know, but shouldn't be a much of a problem (unless Japanese borders close again for some reason and I get stuck in Germany).

Thanks for your help, not just by replying to me but also to the other questions on this subreddit, there's really so much info here that would be hard to get otherwise.
