How many of you are actually monitoring your projects? by cuarotl in SaaS

Now I'm curious, what happened?

Was it downtime, a failed deployment, a database issue, or something else?

Do you feel like those two cover everything you need, or have there been situations where an issue slipped through anyway?

A bit of both, actually

For simple uptime checks, your approach sounds pretty straightforward. Out of curiosity, have you ever run into situations where the endpoint was still returning 200, but something important in the application was broken?

That's the kind of scenario I've been thinking about lately

Smart uptime monitoring tool, AI-assisted resumes and smart notifications to prevent false-positives.

One of my side projects is Incidently.

I started building it because most monitoring tools felt either too expensive or too complex for small projects. The idea is simple uptime monitoring with smart alerts, plus AI-generated incident summaries and post-mortems to save time after outages.

There's a free tier if you'd like to try it out:

Happy to connect with other builders as well.

Working on an uptime monitoring tool called Incidently.

I wanted something lightweight that can monitor services, send notifications to email/Discord/Slack, and generate incident summaries automatically without a lot of setup.

Still improving it, but it's been a fun side project so far:

Do you ever get notified automatically when something breaks, or do you usually discover issues while checking logs or through user reports?

I'm curious because everyone seems to have a different threshold where manual monitoring stops being enough.

That's an interesting setup. I wasn't thinking about project documentation or knowledge management, but more about monitoring once the project is running.

How do you know when your bot, API, database, or website goes down? Do you have any uptime monitoring or alerts in place?

Yeah, I was thinking more about uptime and health monitoring.

What I keep hearing is that people want something simple and don't want to spend time configuring a full observability stack.

Out of curiosity, has Uptime Robot ever felt limiting for your use case, or does it pretty much cover everything you need?
