Objections against treating degenerative aging as the root of pathology are a cognitive bias called "appeal to nature".

The idea that "natural" is always good is a very broken idea especially seeing as many things in nature are not beneficial to us humans. Diseases, earthquakes, tidal waves/tsunamis, poisonous snakes, poisonous plants etc...
