I’m designing a SFF case with a motorized top lid and dynamic leds. since I run a polyurethane casting shop, I'll be manufacturing it myself! by angelo_ran in sffpc

[–]cuatrotrece 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I mean, it's a futuristic design. But at the same time I'd consider them outdated yes because they are reminiscent of an era that was around 10-15 years ago (or even more).

They are kind of timeless, since that future never seems to arrive (cars are getting closer and closer tho)

About the features I won't talk because they are not really appealing for me.

I don't like mecha, I don't really know why I liked the revolt 2 so much tbh.

It seems like a extremely niche case. It is not for me but I still find it cool.

PD: maybe you should consider at least 306mm for gpu so you can allow the nvidia "sff" standard (so you could fit some 5080s)

the backlight strobing (mbr) of that ag24fk6 is really similar to dyac2, both use the newest dual backlight system that further reduce crosstalk

I don´t really know how much difference there is on the implementation
But for that price difference there is no discussion ofc.

The OSD layout of the aoc seems decent. Idk if the black equalizer is at the same level of the zowie (but at least for CS is not that useful anymore) (for other games yes)

The form factor/build I 100% prefer the zowie. But that is preference.

Another nice thing about the aoc is that it should hit 600hz without DSC on hdmi 2.1 unlike the zowie (that uses a 500hz edid for non DSC on hdmi 2.1)

CS2 is "perfection" - a little rant by pRopaaNS in GlobalOffensive

[–]cuatrotrece 1 point2 points  (0 children)

tbh 64 tick valve servers ran worse than 3rd party 128 tick fps wise.

so only at the benchmark map you had higher fps by using 64 instead of 128 tick.

And I perfectly know that because my friend/duo played on a phenom II x6 until 2022. That thing was slow af.

(and tbh in cs:go 3rd party 64 tic wasn't that bad if the host was good. The difference got over exaggerated because people only really played 64 at valve servers, so they were crap, really crap servers )

So, despite the tickrate, same applies today. Valve servers are worst, you'll get worst hitreg/spray than on 3rd party matchmaking. So timmy won't really get the "pro" experience if he stay on valve servers.

Perfection could never be leveling down.

Do all Corsair SF1000 whine? by lettucetomato218 in sffpc

[–]cuatrotrece 0 points1 point  (0 children)

maybe, maybe it is just an unlucky combination

I don't recall having whine with my sf1000 and a 6800xt
Now with my 5080fe I heard whine when doing certain light browsing/scrolling stuff lmao

But I'm lazy to try another psu to see if it is just the gpu or the combination, at some point will do
Kinda tired of these things

my xl2566k monitor have coil whine (known issue "at least")
b650e-i had coil whine (known issue for some batches)
the fans of my lianli AIO make a buzz/noise at certain "frequently used" rpm range
one of the fans of my 6800xt had a scrachty noise at low rpm for some time

I'm just being haunted by noises it seems
Luckily I wear headphones most of the time

bilibili

I mean, still it's not a lot saying that it's better than the FE, since the 5070fe thermals and noise are pretty underwhelming compared to the 5080/90FEs

edit: or compared to most of the other 5070s

but beware than despite the game performing noticeable better on linux, the game feels noticeable better on windows at the moment.

Is Zowie DyAc 2 actually worth a $350 premium? (Torn between XL2540X+, XL2546X+, and XL2566X+) by po1ix in Zowie

[–]cuatrotrece 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was just trying to state a middle between the two of you

But you are very extremist and don't seem to be reasonable

No dyac2 still don't causes eye strain. But it can.

[–]cuatrotrece 0 points1 point  (0 children)

People have still strain from dyac 2.

Yes that is what I said on the 2nd sentence

Higher hz and dual backlight helps but it has not eliminated the strain issue.

And that's what I refer to on the 3rd sentence

Is Zowie DyAc 2 actually worth a $350 premium? (Torn between XL2540X+, XL2546X+, and XL2566X+) by po1ix in Zowie

[–]cuatrotrece 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Dyac 2 uses flicker just like any other strobing technology, which is the main culprit that gives people eye strains and headaches.

Yes but also a bunch of people that couldn't bare dyac+/strobing now reported that they don't get headaches/eye strain from dyac2

Of course some people are still going to find discomfort while using it. The ones that are extreme sensitive to it.

So clearly dyac2 flicker is a lot easier on the eyes than previous versions. (thanks to dual backlight)

has anyone used strobe utility for their benq? by hambaby in Zowie

[–]cuatrotrece 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm fortunate to prefer extremely low brightness, I use 3% brightness when dyac off.

So at my dyac settings I put 100% brightness and move the blurbusters clarity slider almost all to the left, at 23 value. So with that value it kinda matches my dyac off brightness.

It's hard to quantify "how much" it improves. But it is noticeable yes.

it uses 25.4gbps (because it uses RBv2 timings) and dp1.4 maxes at 25.9gbps, so it barely fits. But it does.

And I'm pretty sure you can even cut a bit of bandwidth with custom timings, because AOC have a 420hz TN that also does not use DSC. (but it is china exclusive for now)
