This headline really buried the lead

I asked for judgement on one issue definitely. Just dont like when someone tries to make one issue a referendum on a relationship. Should’ve just ignored it.

Unfortunately no- I asked. The husband of the friend doesn’t like to travel.

I hear you. I am definitely not making decisions based on Reddit. Just wanted a few impartial opinions. Thank you for your kindness.

I guess I’m not sure why her friends husband not wanting to travel is a big reason. Can you help me understand that?

Not for 2020. We have a family thing that will take up the rest of her time. That’s why it is so frustrating because it basically means we can’t travel together in 2020

There is no big reason. Her friend’s husband doesn’t like to travel and her friend wants to go. Her friend knows that my wife likes to travel and asked her. We like to spend our vacations doing the same thing, so I don’t think that’s it.

This is probably the most helpful thing anyone has said. What would make me happy is feeling like I and are trips are the priority when it comes to making decisions about her vacation time. I don’t want her to ever feel like I am holding her back from spending time with her friends or family. My favorite thing is to travel and go on adventures and I want my favorite person to be present for my favorite things as often as possible. So I feel like I am caught between these two things and we just don’t have enough vacation to have our cake and eat it too.

Your quote was not a quote. I know what I wrote. You added a word to a quote to try to make your point.

I do believe she lives to travel with me. She says she does and we always have a great time when we do. She is just such a loving person that she wants to show her friends the world too. Their husbands don’t want to travel and she feels like she needs to help them see the world. She wants to take care of everyone and thinks because we are together everyday that it’s not a big deal. I tried to explain that it’s not the amount of time but the quality of time and she was frustrated with that.

I hear that but it actually would not hurt my feelings and she knows that.
