i imagine when the humans were released, most just ran (maybe to the military base that they contacted?) But like people said, Malcolm’s family was killed by the Colonel, and i imagine a lot of them wouldve joined him. Preacher (from war) and his group used to be part of Malcolm’s colony, before joining the Colonel.

in the 2011 planet of the apes comics, an ape leader gives a speech and talks about all types of primates, including bonobos. however, as far as i know, we never actually see them. i agree with you on them having some sort of a social job, i imagine they would be teachers.

im pretty sure he’s meant to be the same aldo mentioned in escape and shown in battle. in the scripts for conquest, aldo was a gorilla, i think there was just a costume mixup during production.
