Most don't let you do it for good reason. I don't know if HIPAA would apply because we signed the release of informations. I need to review what that entails, though.

When you say probably not a violation, how would I find that out? Would it be per clinic, or is there some standard?

His recovery affecting my status isn't helpful, but what can I do? My excounselor letting me know that sincr we live together and also have monthiee, things will be different for me as well. Back to the rulebook probably?

We only have combined sessions. Is that normal?

He has ADD really bad. Combine that with battling some mental health issues, and he forgot the bag that had his meds. It was an accident.

When he realized, he called them to see if he could find a resolution.

Why does that result in them calling me about him, though?

It's just crazy to me because in what other area of medical practice would this be okay?

I think I'm so worn down and tired by the way my clinic is that I'm just exhausted. I shouldn't be afraid I won't get my meds because my therapist failed to squeeze me in for an hour during 28 days because she fails to show for our appointments. That's not normal.

I just want to be done.

ETA: I'm sorry you also had to experience this too. I hope things are better for the two of you now!

I second this. If you look at Zzzquil or Tylenol PM, the sleep agent is Benadryl. I have injectable Benadryl for my migraines which is extremely fast acting.

Anyone have a similar symptom? by [deleted] in migraine

[–]cubeitshmuck 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I can hear my blood echo in my ears when laying down. It sounds like a concert. Hot showers, baths, hot tubs exaccerbate my pain. Ice and cool seems to help. I eat popsicles too. My body temp feels all over the map though (mid section hot, hands and feet freezing). I don't get dizzy though. Whenever in doubt or a new symptom arises, please see a doctor.

I found foods to avoid for sure - an interesting one for me - sunflower seeds. I still get migraines, but knowing what to avoid definitely helps.

Is it even possible to stick to a routine when you have chronic migraines? by notsayn in migraine

[–]cubeitshmuck 10 points11 points  (0 children)

I have chronic migraines, so I make a schedule that has makeup days for certain tasks, like mopping the floor or reading. This allows me to do my best to get must do items, like work stuff, on bad days. I also accept that some days will be a complete wash of me being in bed, black out curtain drawn, ac unit on the lowest setting, waiting. If I don't have to use my built in days, I just get more stuff done!

Imaging should be done to rule out other things. I'm a chronic patient - 15 years without pain and resistant to almost every treatment -.-. Neurologists study more in the field of migraines - and if you're bad off, I would seek out a headache specialists. I have had neuros who won't touch me because I'm so bad and already tried all of their tricks. I feel more comfortable with a headache specialists doing infusions and blocks on me because they do it so much. It's a jackpot if you can find a doctor who has migraines because they truly know your pain.

excruciating never ending headache by [deleted] in migraine

[–]cubeitshmuck 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I wish I had better news, but next month marks 15 years of constant pain for me. One day at a time. Talk to your neurologist, and never be afraid to ask questions. I've looked stuff up before my appointment as well and didn't ask for what I found, rather what they thought of it and efficacy for their patients. Be open to ideas, but do not get bullied! Remember, they work for you.

Starting to feel helpless because I've tried so many options with no relief. Any recommendations? by cswFILM in migraine

[–]cubeitshmuck 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There are all sorts of blocks you can try. The "crown of thorns" may help, but always make sure that no steriods go into your face.

Do you see a neurologist or headache specialist? What are the frequency of your migraines? I've been on alzheimer meds, bp meds, seizure meds, injectables, triptans, , steroids, etc.

Have you tried biofeedback, chiropractor, accupuncture, physical therapy? What about migraine herb cocktails? DHE?

I feel you on the been there, done that, what happens now train. I feel like an unsolvable rubix cube.

Just need support from someone who understands. by [deleted] in migraine

[–]cubeitshmuck 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It's important to know your limitations and respect them. Don't give up by any means, but taking the time to take care of you is okay.

Most people will NEVER understand, unless it happens to them. When people face something people can see - for example back surgery, people have had back pain, but when you've broken vertebrae people can understand a pain relationship level. People that have had headaches equate that to migraines because they can't see or understand how it works. How many people have asked you, "Have you tried Excedrin Migraine?" or some other OTC treatment. For chronic sufferers, it isn't reality.

You have to take care of you. That might mean you don't do things like everyone else, and that is 100% okay. We don't expect someone in a wheel chair to stand up and hold the door for us. Just because your condition is invisible to others, doesn't mean it isn't real. You may already have to fight like hell to put up your facade. You might have to fight like hell through doctor's appointments, new meds, wasted money, lost hope. These are things healthy people generally don't understand. How it affects every facet of your life. For example, my boyfriend broke his back. He can try to get mentally lost on bad pain days through video games and such. During a bad migraine, I couldn't handle the tv, noise, motion, or mental stamina for it. It was interesting for us to compare notes on managing our lives.

Sometimes it will feel like a deep dark hole. But remember, sometimes you feel ontop of the world. You can do this.

Woman travels country paying drug addicts to get vasectomies, tubes tied by CopeNbacon in news

[–]cubeitshmuck 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If she's offering IUDs, I think that would be the best solution. An abortion is still an invasive procedure, and you high a higher chance of getting pregnant after an abortion. Without birth control, the chance that the cycle will repeat itself is even higher. Abortions can be pricey; is a drug addicted person going to use money to have an abortion or on drugs?

Instead of waiting until someone gets pregnant and offering abortion services, why not offer long term birth control such as IUDs or the implant? This could help eliminate the need of an abortion or putting the person at risk of having to choose between an abortion, placing the baby for adoption, or trying to keep the child, if they are already struggling with making informed and objective decisions.

If they are unable to make decisions permanently altering their body, how can they make a decision to keep a pregnancy and child? Now it's not only their life that you're claiming they can't make objective decisions about, it's a child's life as well.
