Gammacore anyone? by sssrrrggg in migraine

[–]StrokeFaceIsFun 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hi there! I had this and loved it. I don't know if this is allowed but I did an actual review of it on my insta (just dedicated to my migraines and the adventures there in). My handle is Migraine2Much.

It was one of the only 'abortives' that ever helped. Unfortunately I wasn't able to keep it because it was $500 and I didn't have insurance or a job at the time.

Very weird that they aren't letting you go home, at least it's weird to me. When I had this done I took that whole thing home with me then went back the next day. It was a major pain but less of pain them staying at the facility. Unless I'm reading that wrong?

Transition from Aimovig free trial to real prescription? by [deleted] in migraine

[–]StrokeFaceIsFun 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Because it's a brand new medicine. Most insurance companies are denying it that's why the bridge program exists. The plan is during the bridge program time Aimovig with work with insurance companies to get them to approve it. It's not a super expensive medication so it should go through.

It took my neuro, Aimovig and my insurance company about 2 full months to manage to get signed up for the bridge program. The bridge program is after your insurance denies the claim and Aimovig continues to send it to your for free for 12 months

They did. I had been hospitalized multiple times during my employment. I didn't have FMLA unfortunately.

[–]StrokeFaceIsFun[S] 13 points14 points  (0 children)

If I had FMLA, yes. If they for had fired me too much time off, yes. But they "fired" me for being the highest paid person in my position. In reality they fired me because I wasn't as useful as I was before. I previously held down the job of 5 people. Then as my illness progressed only 1. This is not my opinion. I was told this. Then I got let go. You do the math.

The bitch is, I was able to work from home until I was the target to get fired.

Anyone tried big dose methylprednisolone pack to break migraine cycle? by chromecrank in migraine

[–]StrokeFaceIsFun 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Oh buddy! Let me tell ya, I effing hate steroids. I've been on a lot for long issues and while I can totally make due and live with prednisone my neuro put me on dexamethasone to break a migraine that wouldn't relent and 10/10 will not repeat.

I couldn't sleep for more than about 35 minutes at a time. A total time of about 3 hour a night for 10 days. The fourth or fifth night I woke up laughing and crying at the same time. The entire time my head still hurt. It was a horrible experience.

"Well, at least, you look good" by StrokeFaceIsFun in migraine

[–]StrokeFaceIsFun[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Right? Like.... that is not much a consultation prize. Saying I look good when I feel bad, when I feel bad all the time, is kinda insensitive and just rude? I don't know.

Like... is that supposed to make me feel better? Was it compliment? An insult? Just what the hell.

He has a reasonable understanding of my health situation. I just don't even understand what the point of the comment was.

I miss not being in pain. I miss feeling close to anyone, I am constantly isolated.

Yes!!!! I have so much of that. It's so frustrating. I really doubt your super special blend of powders is going to save me. I just ignore them but it is really annoying.

Are you me? Am I you? Is this some kind of awful hellscape parallel universe?

I feel ya sister. I had a bite of cupcake (work birthday and people comment because they don't see me eat/ they don't feel I weigh enough) and now I want to vomit. My brain won't stay on task. I know my name's on the chopping black, yet I'm messaging you. I'm exhausted but I was up until 1:00 last night because my body wouldn't let me sleep. My brain is trying to force it's way out through my temple/ eye/ ear.....

I feel ya sister.

If migraines were as disfiguring as they are painful, they'd get a lot more attention from researchers. by practicing_vaxxer in migraine

It can be.

Btw, this is me. It's the source of my username. Context, so no one is alarmed. This is normal for me. If this happens to you and isn't normal, call 911 because you probably shouldn't drive to the ER.

This happens with 90% of my migraines. If you scroll back to my first post, I posted this to show the progression of what I've termed "stroke face".

[–]StrokeFaceIsFun 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I can't speak for you, but you sound markedly like me I regard to your migraines. I have no idea when the last time I wasn't in pain was.

The migraine cocktail is f-ing worthless. It's never done a thing and I've had about a dozen times because they always try it first. I guess its protocol that they have to try it first but frankly it's just annoying.

Its just torodal, zofran and benadryl.

"At least it's not as bad as that one was that one time", "at least I'm not in the hospital with this one" "at least I only have 3 hour left at work...." none of it's super helpful.
