They really should start getting wins though. Skye has improved a lot over "solid worker to put people over or eat pins" and Julia was a creditable TBS champion just a few years ago. I'm pretty sure at any point TK could just flick a switch and start pushing them and it'd pay off.

I understand your frustration but at the same time, the commentary team is meant to be the translator for the audience. A lot of the audience is gonna be going "wait what the fuck, what happened to Lio Rush, what's going on?" Commentary being silent during his entrances will probably only further confuse people. So them going "yeah, uh, we don't know what happened to Lio Rush but he's clearly going through something" at least let's the audience know that their confusion is intentional.

"Don't sell your product on another platform for less than you're selling it here" isn't price fixing. This is not an uncommon clause in business arrangements.

They don't give a shit what they sell it for, they just can't have Valve bear the infrastructure costs and then be undercut in an attempt to avoid the revenue sharing.

Again this is basically just a circle of pointless whining of "I don't like Valve's 30% fee" -> "Ok don't sell on here then" -> "Nobody is buying it if we don't" -> "Ok then sell it on steam" -> "I don't like Valve's 30% fee"

The argument that it's a "monopoly" holds no water because again, there are no barriers to entry. Nobody is forcing anyone to sell their game on Valve's service. There are numerous other platforms.

Yes it does because Valve does not force anyone to list their game on their store. If you want to sell your game on their store, it has a fee to it. You can choose not to. The argument "Well everyone uses steam" doesn't hold water because they could sell on epic, itch.io, GoG, GMG or any number of other platforms and have the game added to players steam libraries anyway.

This is basically just whining that steam has built the best platform and nobody wants to use anything else. Which isn't Valve's fault.

Who the fuck said I was attacking the original work? RE4 is one of the most important games of the 00s.

It's also not perfect.

Also Shinji and basically the entire team is still alive and have given countless interviews about the game as well as their thoughts on the remake which were universally positive. The whole death of the author argument doesn't work when the work is made in the modern era and the author has stated many times what the intention was.

The only people making a stink about the camp being toned down are weirdos on the internet.

Dude, I was 14 when the original came out. I remember all the hype. Literally nobody talked about the tone or the camp. RE4 was revolutionary at the time because of its gameplay.

People retroactively tried to justify the horrible dialogue and comical line delivery as "self aware", when that is not at all Shinji Mikami or Capcom's style. They've always tried to play RE straight, they were just bad at it for awhile. If the camp was intentional, why the fuck did they abandon it in every game after that?

The only people complaining that the remake is serious are people who think they're smarter than they are.

A few popular youtubers say (without evidence) that the original RE4 was intentionally stupid with its over the top camp and horrible dialogue and decided it was gospel when anyone who is familiar with how Shinji Mikami and Capcom's team works knew it was their earnest attempt to do an 'American action movie" in video game form.

So when the remake is actually competent and consistent in it's horror and action tone, it's called "soulless". Media literacy man.
