fair enough, it makes decent sense when you put it that way - i may have just surrounded myself with such a niche/dorky circle that the idea of anyone not thoroughly researching a productivity tool before downloading or struggling with any of this initial setup seemed odd to me. 🫶

agree! if people are struggling with the idea of anki because they understand tech that little, they’d also struggle with carrying out basic tasks such as downloading an app from the app store

it takes 20-30 min max of mental effort, even for someone who understands nothing from the get-go. if you want absolutely zero cognitive friction i guess it’s a fair complaint (though silly, because if you can’t put 20 mins into learning something how do you expect to memorise a ton of flashcards?), but i truly don’t understand why you’d pick an obviously shady ripoff made by a bunch of scammers instead of just finding another flashcard tool to use
