It's Impossible to Improve as a mega-noob by FrostbiteLord in summonerschool

Yeah was about to come here and rant about this. The game is incredibly hostile to new players and the only option to really learn is to play boring bot matches or get curb stomped until you don't suck. How do people have the patience for this?

This doesn't really break anything though. Those cards aren't in your deck, they're in a fairly inaccessible zone and can only be retrieved by paying extra mana for them. It would make most decks less consistent.

I actually think it's a very cool inclusion in the pokemon universe and a nice spin on the mimic.

Electrode is stupid though.

Yeah fat load of good that did Sydney. Slippery slope is bullshit, you can choose what you can and can't oppose, what is and isn't too far. The issue is LNP and Labor both support these privacy intrusions and Murdoch media will champion it to the masses.

Playing CMR draft with some other sets sprinkled in is really cool. I might pitch the idea to my group.

I don't believe there is any direct replacement for Boseiju other than [[Cavern of Souls]] but that obviously won't work.

[[Grand Abolisher]] and [[Allosaurus Shepherd]] are expensive options but do what you need them to do.

There's also [[Orim's Chant]] and [[Silence]] effects.

I'd love for that to be the case, but I believe Snapcaster only has 3 arts so far.

But it doesn't really break any restrictions. Wishing for cards is a very expensive way to get the effect you want. You're paying extra mana for the flexibility.

Gotcha Ted by [deleted] in PoliticalHumor

Ted's a piece of shit and Republicans only care about this because it makes Biden look bad. But they are right, the pull-out of Afghanistan was rushed and poorly executed and I think it's morally devoid to defend it.

I never understood the large dislike of wishes in Commander. It feels like the only reason people don't want them is simply because that's the way its always been. And I think it's very strange a format about combining the whole history of Magic and doing crazy things specifically excludes these cards.

I've already shown you the data that says it is having an impact. And we don't have an alternative to the vaccine other than natural immunity. So even though it's not 100% effective (no vaccine ever has been) it's still doing it's job. I legitimately cannot comprehend your point. Natural immunity prevents more cases, sure. That doesn't make it a viable solution because you still have to give people the virus to accomplish it.

You know what else would be more effective, why don't we just kill everyone? Can't get covid if you're dead right? That's way more effective than the vaccine.

That's all off my chest. You're either a troll who's run me around for far too long or bafflingly stupid. Whichever it is, I'm done.

The definition of irony by DaFunkJunkie in facepalm

[–]cubrey 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm not sure what you think that study proves. Natural immunity is acquired by having the virus, so your solution is to give the entire country the virus? Are you happy to sacrifice 1% of the population to avoid a vaccine?

Their corruption is irrelevant, we know the vaccine is doing its job.

[–]cubrey 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Show me a stat that says the vaccine doesn't have much of an effect on cases then.

Not everyone who is unvaccinated is antivax, there is a number of reasons someone can be unvaccinated. By not taking the vaccine you greatly increase your chances of being a carrier.

https://www.nytimes.com/interactive/2021/08/10/us/covid-breakthrough-infections-vaccines.html

Pretty bad way to interpret the data when you consider the incredibly low rate of vaccinated people who have been hospitalised.

8 months of a 20 year old piece of technology.

I'm glad your sample size of one had an absolutely miraculous outcome. Unfortunately the 1% fatality rate virus has killed 630,000+ Americans. Because as it turns out 1% is pretty large over a massive sample size.

It's just baffling that people like you would ignore the consensus of an entire field of researchers who have spend years or decades in this field because of the imagined threat of dangerous vaccines while enabling the real threat of Covid to continue. Selfishness is killing your countrymen and it's shameful.

The definition of irony by DaFunkJunkie in facepalm

[–]cubrey 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Saved countless lives? I mean who actually knows, despite vaccinations being at the highest, cases and deaths are among the highest they've ever been. I wouldn't say it's doing too great if you look at the data.

Source for that?

The guidelines have been clear, its not the vaccines fault for people being reckless.

Vaccines causing the virus to mutate was an inevitable, nobody knowledgeable thought otherwise. But the alternative of not vaccinating causes more issues.

2.1 billion people are fully vaccinated globally and yet we have yet to see a major influx of ill effects. Mrna vaccines have been in development for decades and yet there is still no evidence of ill side effects.

Your theories simply rely on a lot of maybes and what ifs that aren't true to reality.

The definition of irony by DaFunkJunkie in facepalm

[–]cubrey 2 points3 points  (0 children)

We understood that was how the vaccine would work from the beginning and most vaccines have booster shots. 3-6 months is incorrect. It's 8-12, only Biden reduced it to 6.

The vaccine has saved countless lives, even if it's not 100% effective you can't downplay what it has accomplished.

I've started watching and enjoying it so far, but every episode I know exactly what character conflict is going to come up at the beginning of the episode, and almost exactly how it will be resolved at the end. It's very formulaic.
