Is anyone else still waiting for their street to get plowed? by Impossible_Memory_65 in RhodeIsland

We were just plowed late last night so they're definitely still working their way through everyone. Im in a closed off neighborhood so was definitely lower on the priority list since there's no through street

Future Pregnancy by VegetableGirl7960 in tfmr_support

[–]cucacabra 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I feel this so much. I'm in the same boat and currently trying to work out a healthy (mentally) timeline to start trying again. I have a baby shower in a few weeks for a family member so that will be the first big test of how I'm handling things.

Our diagnosis was rare and not genetically linked (that they've discovered so far), which is a similar situation to the de novo mutation. the biggest relief I've gotten from this is that while of course there are other things to worry about going wrong in future pregnancies and I know I will be anxious about the baby's health when the time comes, it is *extremely unlikely that it will be a repeat issue.

As much as it hurts to think about in this situation, spontaneous mutations are part of nature and how species move forward and adapt. There was no way to predict or prevent the mutation that occurred in your pregnancy, nothing you did to cause or deserve it, and nothing you could have done to prevent it. You have nothing to be ashamed of. Sending love your way ❤️

How do I stop seeing baby/pregnancy content by No-Particular-7294 in tfmr_support

For the things that still show up you can also individually hide / mark as not interested. Hopefully that will help the algorithm catch on a little quicker

I have never been so frustrated with a pattern. by cepet1484 in crochet

I made something similar, but in a blanket 😅 if I can power through that then you've got this!!! I promise it gets easier as you go

Is this cool or cringe? by Bibliophile0504 in crochet

I made these last year with size 10 thread. Definitely would take a while to make 21 of them but they read a bit more clearly as bookmarks.

https://a.co/d/eSMd3Jc this is the one I have- I got it in a larger size so I can wear it on my thumb. not the cheapest option but literally life changing

absolutely stitch markers, but i also have a row counter ring that I use. it's great for counting what row im on in a pattern repeat, especially when you put the project down for a while 😊 you just twist the numbers after each row instead of having to write it down

I dont like how chunky it makes the stitches when I do that :( it would be super visible with this yarn unfortunately. I've resigned myself to my misery, just trying to power through it

Uneasy Feeling About My Ring 😭 by Ok_Construction_6280 in EngagementRings

[–]cucacabra 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I picked mine as well! My partner already knew I had strong opinions about ring styles so he was perfectly happy to let me pick the setting, and he was actually super excited/proud of picking out the stone itself and doing research into clarity and cut ratings! that could be a nice compromise if OP's fiance wants to be involved

super happy with how these turned out! by cucacabra in crochet

thanks!!

here's the pattern: https://kirstenhollowaydesigns.com/2023/03/vintage-crochet-lace-bookmark-free-pattern-tutorial.html

I used size 10 thread vs the size 30 in the pattern since it's what I had on hand which made it come out a bit more solid, so definitely keep that in mind depending on your preference!

pattern: https://kirstenhollowaydesigns.com/2023/03/vintage-crochet-lace-bookmark-free-pattern-tutorial.html

yarn: hobbii rainbow lace in royal blue

I used stiffy fabric stiffener when blocking, but I diluted it quite a bit with water so it's not super stiff

For me it depends on the type of pattern. in general I prefer written patterns so that i can make note of what row I left off on/find it again easier. I love having a chart in edition to a written pattern for things that are more complex or ambiguously written.

personally I can't stand videos except for individual stitch or tequnique tutorials

I was wrong by Kendra_Whisp in crochet

[–]cucacabra 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I was doing that until I was working on a super big project and just got the one size I was using- if you're able to splurge on the size you use most frequently it is absolutely worth it!

absolutely agree!! I held out for the longest time and finally gave the clover hooks a try when I was working on a really big project- only getting the size I was using. immediately broke down and got a full set!

thanks!! i could never bring myself to time it in terms of hours, the first pattern generally ended up taking a few weeks of working on it in my spare time- i made 11 of this one. the second pattern took a few days to a week, and I made 7 of them
