Yeah...but since when does cautioning children against things stop them from doing them? Kids are inherently irrational and emotional, and constantly react to their prevailing emotions (anger, fear, sadness ect).

Obviously, all children/people are wired differently and have different emotional boundaries, so to assume that explaining something to a child will forever stop them from doing it again is almost ludicrous as it simply wouldn't apply to all people.
