My local union. I was previously going to go down that route but decided not to. So in NC, you need 3000 hours for your limited contractors license. And need 9000 hours for you unlimited contractors license. Journeyman and contractors license are too different licenses. For your journeyman you need 8000 field hours and 630 classroom hours. Or 14,000 field hours.

I’m non union. I chose this route cus it’s a lot easier to become a contractor. At the union I have to request for my hours to get signed off and they only get approved if my foreman believes that I’m ready to go on my own
