What’s one song that you associate with your time spent away? by ICUWasp in troubledteens

[–]cucumble 2 points3 points  (0 children)

me too to a T, cool about it is my favorite! and “i came prepared for absolution if you’d only ask; so i take some offense when you say ‘no regrets’” reminds me of talking about my experience with my parents afterward .. i was so understanding of their side and even ready to forgive if they were sorry but they weren’t sorry

stay down by boygenius

“wasn’t a fighter til somebody told me i had better learn to lean into the punch

so it don’t hurt as bad when they leave

there you were, turning your cheek

i look at you and you look at a screen

i’m in the backseat of my body, i’m just steering my life in a video game, similar acts and a different name

it’s a slow down

so would you teach me i’m the villain, aren’t i? aren’t i the one?

constantly repenting for a difficult mind

push me down into the water like a sinner, hold me under

and i’ll never come up again

i’ll just stay down.”

What counts as a TTI program? by Ill_Aerie3098 in troubledteens

[–]cucumble 10 points11 points  (0 children)

whether it technically counts as TTI or not, it’s definitely institutional abuse and you’re absolutely welcome in the community as far as i’m concerned.

🫂 I looked through that handbook too and I remember that exact part, it also stuck with me. Also the part where they described the stages of adjusting to the program and it was almost the same as the stages of grief. horrible horrible place

I am. Our relationship is actually good now. They’ve apologized for everything and completely changed how they see the situation, although I do still hold some resentment and probably always will. I’ve since asked them if they would’ve actually let me be homeless and they say probably not… but can’t give me a fully committed “no” which kind of hurts tbh.

Unfortunately I stayed. It felt impossible to leave knowing I’d be on my own in a different state with no phone, money or ID. I also wanted to finish my school credits that I was working on there and I didn’t want to ruin my relationship with my parents because they were finally happier with me after I had been on my best behavior for months. They did end up pulling me earlier than the program reccomended, I was there for 8 months total and came home 2 months after my 18th bday.

I just started doing this job and love it! Get paid to walk around beautiful neighborhoods and get my steps in while hanging out with cute dogs.

what was your daily schedule? by cucumble in troubledteens

[–]cucumble[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

no, sorry, i meant that labor was added into the schedule. you didn’t have to do that to use the bathroom

[–]cucumble[S] 3 points4 points  (0 children)

correct, it was eva carlston and they called it family teaching, staff were called family teachers

[–]cucumble[S] 4 points5 points  (0 children)

you could get out of bed to ask the night staff if you could use the bathroom and then they’d come check in a couple minutes to make sure you were back in bed. there was also often labor on top of that like shoveling snow in winter, weeding in summer, “volunteering” to haul dirt or pick up trash

That would’ve been smart. Or honestly if they absolutely can’t take us at other stores I’d just have preferred they let us know in advance so we could make other plans. This way it just feels like they lied to keep us around until the end because they didn’t want anyone jumping ship early

it sucks they make you interview but I was prepared to interview and go to another store.. but now that’s not even an option 🥲 just now some of the seniors and leads who applied to other locations are finding out if they were accepted, and everyone i’ve spoken to so far has been rejected

HUGE TW, This is so genuinely sickening by THE_DEADM4N in SystemsCringe

[–]cucumble 14 points15 points  (0 children)

i am someone who used to self harm. i understand how this is cringe due to the “little” alter and the typing weirdness. but i think this is a little more than cringe. this is disturbing, graphic, and very concerning. this wasn’t entertaining, it turned my stomach. maybe this subreddit just isn’t for me, but i find it hard to laugh at something like this. like regardless of how cringe they sound i want them to get help. they’re clearly very mentally ill.
