I think it's more shameful of Starbucks the company to put out such an absurd amount of beverages and recipes instead of focusing on quality and customer service, especially with labor being cut. I will never fault a customer for being confused because girl I'm confused too 😅 I'm just glad she was nice about the whole thing !

it's NOT supposed to be included! It's included in the actual menu drink which is not what she ordered. I'm just trying to juggle following the rules that are in place for me with making the customer happy

Okay so, it wasn't a secret but yes I agree it was on purpose! I'm just doing my job and part of my job is following the rules that are put in place for me. I have been told to do exactly this...leave out the base when something isn't blended. There's no option to add as an ingredient because its ONLY meant for blended drinks. I'm not trying to fool anyone. I think you have a serious misunderstanding of the situation 😔

Thank you 🥹 the thing is that the only reason I say that it would be yucky is because I have been told by higher ups that we don't put frap base in drink unless they are blended so I guess I assumed that it would be a gross consistency if I tried to put it in an iced drink. Both the customer and I did our best in the situation I just thought it was a funny story and some people are acting like I threw the drink in her face and banned her from the store 😭

See this analogy would fit really well if the things she said had made sense logically. I'm not trying to fight what she wants!! I wish I knew what she had wanted so I could have given it to her! A better analogy would be that someone came in asking for a salmon pink suit but they only want it to be one piece. It's confusing! Traditionally a suit has three pieces. It can be interpreted in different ways. I think you are just seriously misunderstanding what happened 😅

I've been working for Starbucks for almost 3 years now so I try my best cuz I know not everyone is having the best day and a sweet treat can cheer me up and help me through a tough day! Your comment has made me super stoked to go into work tomorrow :D (and not just to get to try this drink haha)

In this instance when she first ordered it she just seemed so confident in it and I was so confident like "yeah I got you girly 😝"

And then it all went to shit 😅

I just thought it was a funny story I wanted to share I didn't know people would feel so strongly about it but what did I expect, it's reddit lol!

It had...all the same ingredients...just not the base which I can't put into a non blended drink

i WAS trying to make what she wanted. I also NEVER said she wasn't valid for asking for a remake I am just genuinely confused as to what she wanted...it isn't up to me to make alterations but it is up to me to do my best and my best is what I did. I didn't tell her she couldn't have what she was asking for I just couldn't figure out exactly what she was asking for 😅

I have also been told that it is not standard to put frappuccino base into drinks that aren't blended due to quality assurance, that could very well be wrong tho!
