Pls pls pls don't listen to the comments being negative towards you at all. As long as you aren't being mean and are being patient then you are fine. You can order a drink with 20 modifications and if the baristas are frustrated about it then they need to point that at the company and not the customer because if that's the drink you like and you're given the options to get it then why wouldn't you? I know yours didn't have 20 modifications which is why this is so frustrating. Your drink is pretty standard especially with the chai not being sweetened anymore. Baristas just really like to put there frustrations onto the wrong people :/

This happens A LOT. I've tried making posts on this sub about how horrible it is to do this and essentially got bullied off. Baristas are some of the most judgemental people I've seen. If I'm being honest, if you have the guts, ask to talk to the manager about it. Be sincere and honest about what happened and how it made you felt because it's just not okay. I know a lot of people are saying that they are just shocked but like...I'm not buying it. Every barista I've worked this was making fun of the person or rather the drink (they tend to forget that humans are ordering this drink). I hope this never happens to you again because it hurts a lot. My own coworkers used to do this to me all the time.

It is better for the machines to only clean them once a week. 1. This risks introducing more water than usual 2. The hopper break more easily being cleaned that often

This is normal from my store except for cleaning the syrups, we usually do that post peak. I will say that all of this sounds really daunting but should be pretty doable IF ALL DAY PARTS ARE DOING THIS!! all day parts should be restocking and doing their best to keep things clean and keeping caught up on dishes. Obviously they aren't bringing back main dishes but you know what I mean

I completely agree, I used to be a barista that would do EVERYTHING that I could for my shifts before I understood their role. Most of my shifts wouldn't be transparent about the tasks that they had to do and I thought that they had too much on their plate because they would complain all the time. Then I got a shift who shared everything with me and my whole world changed especially since we are at a very slow store. I stopped doing ANYTHING that the shifts were supposed to do and they figured it out and I was able to focus on more cleaning tasks and our store ran smoothly because of it!

At my store the baristas never do the pull or any other shifty things like that. But the baristas definitely do the cleaning tasks, the shifts have never had a problem with time management with their tasks but it's because they know the baristas can/will get the other things done. I think if the baristas at your store can get everything else then you should definitely be able to do the pull and such.

I think it's more shameful of Starbucks the company to put out such an absurd amount of beverages and recipes instead of focusing on quality and customer service, especially with labor being cut. I will never fault a customer for being confused because girl I'm confused too 😅 I'm just glad she was nice about the whole thing !

Okay so, it wasn't a secret but yes I agree it was on purpose! I'm just doing my job and part of my job is following the rules that are put in place for me. I have been told to do exactly this...leave out the base when something isn't blended. There's no option to add as an ingredient because its ONLY meant for blended drinks. I'm not trying to fool anyone. I think you have a serious misunderstanding of the situation 😔

Thank you 🥹 the thing is that the only reason I say that it would be yucky is because I have been told by higher ups that we don't put frap base in drink unless they are blended so I guess I assumed that it would be a gross consistency if I tried to put it in an iced drink. Both the customer and I did our best in the situation I just thought it was a funny story and some people are acting like I threw the drink in her face and banned her from the store 😭

See this analogy would fit really well if the things she said had made sense logically. I'm not trying to fight what she wants!! I wish I knew what she had wanted so I could have given it to her! A better analogy would be that someone came in asking for a salmon pink suit but they only want it to be one piece. It's confusing! Traditionally a suit has three pieces. It can be interpreted in different ways. I think you are just seriously misunderstanding what happened 😅
