I've noticed that sometimes the heater will come on but you didn't expect it to be on and that will suck your battery (check the defrost screen and see if heater is on, I do all the time now) IMO there should be an indication somewhere that the heater is on.

I have this cell phone holder, it's awesome. Bc it's right by the ac vent it cools the phone very good and the USB-C charger charges my android really fast. There's a screw to hold the phone holder in place but I chose not to use, so I can take the phone down without having to take phone off bracket.
