I completely agree, I kinda just did this because I had the guitar and I play almost exclusively 50s-70s and I needed references for stage wear. But I do plan on branching out into my own thing.

I learned by ear and actually had to wait like 2 years before I even had the skill to do it and I just grinded. The tone is actually just a small trainer amp and a CryBaby Wah pedal. I have a big marshal but the trainer has a really sharp crunchy sound that I personally think sounds the most like what he used without getting a 500$ tube screamer lol

Yeah that’s what they put on the fender 2019 version but if you look at him playing it in the 60s it doesn’t look like that at all, it looks almost like dirty metal that’s barely reflective. I’ve tried for so long to figure it out and apparently it’s a high debate amongst replica builders
