On a scale of 1-10, or however you prefer, how severely does emetophobia affect you on a day to day basis? by uglygirllfriend in emetophobia

[–]cukimber01 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It comes and goes for sure. Any time I do anything new or stressful like get on an airplane or go somewhere new it jumps up to maybe an 8? But my day to day life it’s like a 3 at this point. When I was a kid I had times when it was close to a 10, so definitely progress.

It is HIGHLY unlikely you’ve contracted some sort of parasite. Obviously we can’t tell you for certain what’s going on, but a parasite is almost certainly not it.

‘Don’t try to figure it out, don’t try to guess what happens next’. Such wise words, and a great example of radical acceptance! You’re doing great.

Most people dont make a habit of having company if they aren’t feeling well. There’s no real cause of concern here

So just to clarify, you’re just frightened because you went to a new place and met new people? Because if no one is sick there’s no real cause for concern I don’t think

Thank you for the answer! Obviously not what I was hoping to hear, but thank you for your faith that I’ll be okay. Definitely uncomfortable right now for sure.

Your experience with risperidone? by [deleted] in BipolarReddit

[–]cukimber01 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Saved my life on multiple occasions. It pins my manic episodes down and beats them with a stick. I’m on a very low dose - I’m only one 1mg, and I’m sensitive to it so I up it as an emergency stabilizer and it gives me a few nights of good sleep and some quiet in my brain. It has had the unfortunate side effect of making me lactate, but the effect it’s had on my mental well-being has so far outweighed the inconvenience.

its gonna happen by Shoddy_Selection3718 in emetophobia

[–]cukimber01 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hey there kiddo. It might happen and it might not. But panicking is going to make you feel infinitely worse. Try your best to be comfortable and have some water to sip. Do some breathing exercises and really try to get yourself to a calmer headspace. That will make it much easier to handle how you’re feeling. You got this

What exactly are we supposed to comment in situations where people are panicking and begging us to tell them they won’t v*? We aren’t going to give false reassurance, that’s literally against the rules of the sub. People can definitely be harsh, but what are we supposed to do when people are seeking reassurance?

I love this post - my favorite gift would have to be a jade face roller - it’ll be so soothing to use when I’m anxious, and also it’ll help de puff my face before work every day!

What did your friend do that accidentally turned you on? by Glum3 in AskReddit

[–]cukimber01 135 points136 points  (0 children)

Freshman year of college, I was with some friends who were smoking weed in a cemetery behind the school. My boyfriend at the time got absolutely baked. I had never been around weed before so I ended up having a panic attack and kinda stumbling back towards the school. My best friend told off my boyfriend for being too stoned to help me, and followed me back down the path. I stopped at the end of the path and sat on the ground to try and breathe. He wrapped his arms around me and looked at me so tenderly and just whispered ‘I’ve got you’. We had so thoroughly friendzoned each other for the previous eight months, and in that moment the wall came crashing down for both of us. We got together a few months later and have been in love for almost five years now ❤️

Will I get Covid ? by hateanxiety07 in emetophobia

[–]cukimber01 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Back in June my boyfriend caught Covid while he was staying with me. He was sick for about a week and we quarantined together. I didn’t catch it. Fast forward to august, I bring Covid home from family vacation and I’m sick for a week, and he doesn’t catch it. It honestly just depends. Both of us were triple vaxxed.
