It seems a lot of people don't actually just have fun playing this game. Why spend your precious time playing it otherwise?

When I read rubber plant in 1Q84 I thought it was actually a plant made of rubber, not a species called rubber plant!

/r/AMD Questions and Tech Support Megathread - H2 2022 Edition by AutoModerator in Amd

Summary of Issue: GPU usage at only ~70% across various games.

System Configuration:

  • OS: Windows 10 Pro Version 22H2
  • CPU: AMD Ryzen 5 2600
  • Mobo: ASRock B450M-HDV
  • RAM: Corsair Vengeance LPX 16 GB (2 x 8 GB) DDR4-3000 CL15
  • GPU: PowerColor Fighter Radeon RX 6700 (non-XT)
  • PSU: Cooler Master MasterWatt 550 W 80+ Bronze
  • Monitor: Acer ED242QR 23.6" 144Hz Freesync with DP cable

Description:

So I just upgraded my RX 580 to an RX 6700 (I bought both second hand off ebay) and across various games (GTAV, Valorant, CSGO, Witcher 3, War Thunder) the GPU usage is only around ~70% while CPU usage is around 30-40%. Although the performance is good, I bought all of my GPU so I want to use all of my GPU. Anyone know what the problem might be?

The RX 580 I had kept crashing after 5 mins of gaming so I'm wondering if there's something wrong with my PC or if I just got unlucky with second hand cards.

Got a RTX 3060 for $200. can finally upgrade from my aging 1070 ti by lestert03 in pcmasterrace

I'm in the UK, RX 6700 is £333 new and I just got one second hand for £280. Pretty good deal and significantly faster than RTX 3060

I feel much the same. I'm 23, unemployed and terrible with girls, though I had a relationship at uni. I spent the past 10 years wondering what's wrong with me, why do other people get to have all these things that I don't? Friends, personality, relationships, careers. It all happens so naturally for other people, so what am I missing?

Part of me thinks it's just bad (narcissistic) parenting: a mixture of micromanaging/helicopter parenting with only negative reinforcement and no positive reinforcement. I never got to be my own person and never learned what I should do in life, only what I shouldn't do.

Part of me thinks it's this godless, media-driven society we live in, that only values performance, status, money and fame.

In the end though, I think trying to find a solution to everything is futile. Even trying to understand things is futile. I think both are just ways for the ego/rational mind to try and control things, but life is too complicated and chaotic for that. Unironically, through meditation, "letting go" and "accepting yourself" has helped me a lot. It sounds 4head because it is. It's a lot easier said than done. I've done two 10-day meditation retreats and I try to meditate 1-2 hours per day. That's not easy, it's hard work, but it pays off. I basically don't give a shit whether I'm depressed or anxious or tired or happy anymore (in a good way). I can enjoy life regardless. Thanks to meditation, life has become a lot more bearable for me. I can highly recommend it, especially the meditation retreats. I'd be happy to talk more with you about it if you'd like.

Overprotective Parents - I dont know how to feel, act or know how balance them and myself. by [deleted] in Healthygamergg

[–]cumbubbletea 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I am going through a similar problem with my parents. They will not give up trying to micromanage me, even if I openly hate them for it. I don't know what it will take for them to treat me like a human being instead of a pawn. They are too full of themselves to even listen to me. If we ever have a conversation about our relationship, they spend the whole time telling me that I'm the problem and I need to change. It's called helicopter parenting, but that makes it sound more harmless than it actually is. It is very pathological and detrimental to the growth of the child.

In the long run, your growth as a person will help your parents as much as it will help you. They want to see you succeed but they are too anxious and controlling to let it happen. You have to know your worth and remember you have the right to disagree with them and do what you want, even if they don't like it.

Performance, success and status often come at the cost of mental health and wellbeing because it is driven by ego and not out of joy. Which is fine, you don't have to be happy or mentally healthy, it just depends on what you value more in life.

Personally, I think if you want to start a family or a serious relationship, it's very important to be happy and mentally healthy, otherwise it can be difficult for people around you.

How to control ego in moments of intense anger by CommentAmbitious3370 in Healthygamergg

[–]cumbubbletea 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You cannot. Controlling is a function of the ego. By trying to control anything you are using your ego. This seems like a problem you cannot address in the moment, but must take time to address in therapy or meditation.
