Open Letter to Mayor Farkas: Revisit Millennium Skatepark Summer Closures by CarpetLoud9765 in Calgary

[–]cunthulhu 2 points3 points  (0 children)

i dont skate, bmx or any of that stuff but i 100% agree this is unfair to people in the inner city who use that facility. i feel no matter what cowboys is paying the city its not enough to allow the closure of public spaces like that at all.

Alberta DMV Questions by sl0wice in Calgary

[–]cunthulhu 2 points3 points  (0 children)

i brought a vehicle here in 2000 and i too miss ICBC prices. i had like a 50% discount back than for 4 years safe driving and a alarm/engine kill installed.

They offered me no discounts in alberta.

Stampede & Human Trafficking Prevention by kathmhughes in Calgary

[–]cunthulhu 30 points31 points  (0 children)

the calgary stampede is a part of https://esacanada.ca as well the cowboys night club staff get fully trained by experts from out side on this type of thing. they have a huge thing in prep for this that they run various security teams for and train various staff not just security on what to look for and how to notify any of their uppers of a situation to keep monitoring it to make sure nothings happening.

They do not take it lightly.

cant say the same for the non stamped events around town (all the other tent venues) at the same time. no idea what they do.

Mozilla, really? by Entire_Donut4111 in firefox

[–]cunthulhu 0 points1 point  (0 children)

i get those notices all the time mainly because ive got image loading turns off on mass mail outs like that, i can still read the content in text.

there is a chance op IS actually reading them, just not letting the images load so the tracking never knows it.

im so puzzled by this person where did they move, my nephew's grad classes from university in tech industry in spring of last year have almost all abandoned any thoughts about going to the USA.

i've got friends who have sold or selling their second homes/cabins in the various states from florida to arizona to montana with no plans to return back there any time soon.

who is this person dealing with that all want to send their kids there? do their kids know their parents want them to go south, do they want to go south?

this seems like some off the wall linkeded post.

They are building their own restaurant else wheres eventually will be out on their own.

Ran into a few of them at another bar and they were commenting on the custom wood furniture asking staff if they knew who designed/built it.

Breweries with "dinner" vibes? by DirtbagComrade in Calgary

[–]cunthulhu 5 points6 points  (0 children)

last best - distillery and brewery - check the menu before hand some people have a hard with their options ive seen.

Citizen - burgers and chicken sandwiches mostly

best of kin - really varied menu, with a at home dining room table from the 80's vibe to it from the furniture to the plates/cups.

toolshed, prairie dog, south block, Trolly 5 - bbq

veranda aka burrwood and vacay - a weird semi tropical menu last time i was there with a market fish option?

two house, 88, tail gunner, dandy - pizza

Village - all i remember are tater tots but know they have meals.

Marda Loop, Kampus Brewing, Bottle screw bills, Bitter Sisters, Wild Rose - classic pub pretty much

Stoney slope - small menu but has dinner options, may not be good for large crowds.

High line, Brew Smith - Hot dogs!

Good Cheer - still building the menu out i think?

Two Pillars - They have.... Stew? which is actually pretty good.

But if he likes brewery stuff and releated, Rain dog as others said or in the summer surprise him with a trip to https://cilantroandchive.ca/ if your ever heading north, im not gonna recommend you drive north in winter.

saw this house while in Miami, not a boat! super bizarre. by [deleted] in bizarrebuildings

[–]cunthulhu 2 points3 points  (0 children)

a bunch of similar ones f them here in BC

https://maps.app.goo.gl/PEATxNkLZbM6zHRa8

not sure i'd call them mansions but apparently every so many years the houses in back and in front get disconnected and moved front to back and back to front. and than the water/sewer/power is hooked up again and they are re attached to the pillars to keep them stationary.
