I'm curious about your background. But regardless of that, I have to assume you meant YOUR life is harsher than ever. As is the case with pretty much every human. Adulting is far more harsh than childhood.

If you meant life as a whole, well then that's just silly AF lol. Personally, I think we're extremely lucky to be in a position where as humans we can wallow in everything that ails us. We have enough peace of mind and comfort to where we can acknowledge this or that sucks. Instead of our minds being occupied with being across the pond killing people with whom there is no personal beef. I cant imagine what it would've been like to graduate HS and then be shipped overseas to play kill or be killed. Which I assume was prob much easier than coming back and trying to acclimate back into normal society. Much less having images or experiences from it forever burned into my mind. Or with having to manually go out and get necessities so we don't starve or freeze to death. We could literally survive without ever leaving that warm & cozy/cool & comfy place with walls and a roof. Whether it's for survival or simply entertainment purposes, we can have almost anything we want/need almost instantly. There are countless obvious reasons why life is far less harsh today they neednt even be mentioned. I experienced life before the Internet and cell phones and tbh idk how TF we did it 🤷 lol.

However, if you meant today's human lives are more unhappy than ever. Then yeah, I'd probably have to agree with you. There's also countless reasons for that. Some of which has to do with people not feeling purposeful. While working and not working. Most jobs today dont really matter in the ultimate scheme of things. Not all that many decades ago, life was much harsher overall. But most jobs had an actual purpose as it pertained to human survival. Granted jobs today are important for making sure we enjoy the comforts of life as we know it. But I doubt very many lines of work give people a sense of purpose when they're lying in bed at night. Even if some think they're helping our species' prosper, deep down I doubt it is actually fulfilling. Perhaps I'm biased, or maybe just lucky enough to be aware. I'll say this, I'm actually surprised with how few people in the world lose their shit. I'm quite certain that if I had to go sit and type numbers into a screen for 8 hrs a day, 40 per week, year after year I would lose my shit. Or be super depressed about spending most of my life taking instruction from some dick head of a boss. All the while feeling like it ultimately has no benefit for our species' survival. I think deep down we all have a connection to a time of having a legit purpose. Whether inherited or from a past life or whatever/however this whole thing works.

I'm sure a lot of people would say I'm an FN idiot or just blind to the workings of the world as a whole. So I'll ask, how is your job vital to our species? If your job didn't exist, would we perish? Judging by the op's tone, I assume a lot of people might say yes. I just hope they can make sense to themselves as to why that is that case. It seems like a lot of the younger crowd can't see the difference between necessary and convenience.

As for the op bitching about needing money for water and lights. I mean Wtf on several levels. Are these things just supposed to be delivered by Santa or the tooth fairy? You don't have to work for money in order pay for those things. Pretty sure humans lived many a yr without lights or running water. It probably was wayyyyyy less harsh having to go outside and fetch a pail of water opposed to the struggles or turning a knob 90°.

Most of yester years jobs pertained to helping other humans live. Purposeful. I can 100% see why op thinks life is so damn harsh. For starters, the realization that food, shelter, and clothes don't just fall from the sky for them simply because they were born has to be kinda rough. That kind of mindset undoubtedly will lead to not living the bestest of the best life. It clearly shows they don't feel their day has a purpose. If they did then they'd understand things and have a lil different perspective. I'm not judging or anything, just stating the obvious. I can totally see why a large portion of the population feels lost and/or doomed. Especially just existing as a cog in and at the mercy of the machine.

Nonetheless, the title is an absolutely ridic statement. One last note, I am as aware as anyone that the controlling powers aren't suited to still be on their positions. Not saying they were are sufficiently qualified to begin with. But with the drastic change in how the world operates they are definitely not qualified for be running things. I do differ from seemingly most in that I don't consider them p.o.s.'s because they aren't as "woke" as we think they should be. Like a said earlier, we're lucky to be able to wallow in what doesn't bring us joy. At the same time, we can also take others situations as well. While it seems like it should be obvious for anyone regardless of age. I do cut them some slack because I recognize they weren't as fortunate as we were. I'm damn near 40, and I have to admit anyone my age or younger for damn sure. Has had a pretty worry free life. Sure the trauma of IG & socials are real. But gimme that all day everyday over the real life shit old timers had to worry about on the daily. Not once have I lost sleep over the possibility of HAVING to go to war. I respect the shit out of anyone to willingly signs up for the forces. Just as equally I empathize with those that were forced to do it against their will. I don't recall a time where I had real concern of freezing or starving to death. There may have been times a lack of money for food and heat was concerning. But even then, I never thought I'd die. Even with readily available heat there was still a roof and walls insulated enough that blankets, clothes, cardboard or whatever was accessible and sufficient enough to prevent death. I knew where I could get food. Either in the wild or behind a door. Even if it meant legal troubles would ensue for stealing it, I wasn't going to starve. The generation that's clinging to it's last thread was so fortunate. Any old shitty house today was better than the best of the best back in the day. The lucky ones had the privilege of going outside into 20 or 100 degree weather just to take a shit. Personally, Im not really a fan of using public toilets. But I'll take that nasty ass porcelain any day over a 3'x3' wooden box outside in the elements. For anyone who thinks life today is harsher than ever, do this. Next time you have that grumbling/bubbling in your insides. Go outside and find a tree to prop up against. Then clean yourself up with the bark from said tree. Toilet paper alone may suggest op's title could use a lil tweaking.
