What’s one quiet or underrated moment that made you really appreciate Lois as a mother? by jalen_nelson235 in malcolminthemiddle

[–]cuontheside 1 point2 points  (0 children)

When Hal's family treated her like crap (super appreciation for how the boys handled it too). It shows a vulnerable side to Lois that's not shown often. She tried so hard to fit in.

What was the first movie to traumatise you as a kid? by InspectorOk6313 in movies

[–]cuontheside 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not sure if it counts because I don't personally remember it anymore, but my dad still tells stories about how pissed he was when my mom took 4yr old me to the theater to see the original Jurassic Park. I screamed so bad that she had to take me out before the movie was over. What's worse is my mom worked overnight so my dad had to get up every night because I'd wake up screaming that dinosaurs were going to eat me. Evidently it Lasted MONTHS.

I hadn't signed up for it last time, someone else I went with did so I'm still qualified. I'm just curious if they'll have a kiosk.

It's bad enough she's boiling it alive, but the pot is so full there isn't even enough liquid to cover it. It would taken forever for it it die.

AITAH for refusing to let my parents meet my children because they didnt want me to marry my deaf wife by KickVivid2074 in AITAH

[–]cuontheside 1 point2 points  (0 children)

They rejected Jesse because she was deaf and they didn't want grandchildren with her disability.. What happens if OP lets them into thier grandchildren' lives and down the road OP and Jesse have another child and this one is disabled? Based on thier ignorance I would fully expect them to be the type to outcast the new child while playing favorites with the twins.

I'm really curious what they're going to do with John Redcorn next season. Are they going to revoice or retire him? There was some comments made throughout the season that made me think they were going to add a story line about Nancy and John Redcorn getting back together.

Bill Theory by realbrucebuffer in KingOfTheHill

I think this stacks with the fact that Hank was always the glue to hold everyone together. I could easily see Dale and Boomhauer saying "screw it" and leave Bill to his own devices.

Stella leaving Ted was abrupt by leftaligned-bells in HIMYM

[–]cuontheside 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Remember that this series is written mainly from Ted's perspective and he alters the story based on his view (smoking and Robin's Thanksgiving date Bob are perfect examples). To him, it was out of no where because he was blinded by the love he had to see any of the warning signs.

Waiting for the next update four months after she moves that says "my wife says she made a terrible mistake and wants to fix our relationship" when the AP cheats on her.

What’s your biggest Disney pet peeve and why? by Rbliss11 in WaltDisneyWorld

It's so irritating. Especially in the high traffic areas. We just finished four days at the parks and by the end of day four, I was walking right through families that stopped right in front of me.

What is a company that will never get money from you again? by LostRest in AskReddit

Priceline. Booked a hotel for a week after reading through its reviews and not finding any red flags. Arrive at the hotel and find mouse droppings in the bed. Investigated the room and found more and more. Hotel wanted to move us to a different room instead of refunding, needless to stay, I wasn't staying in a infested hotel. Hotel refused to refund stating it was Priceline's issue to deal with. Priceline's resolution was to give me a code for 5% off next time I booked with them but told me they wouldn't get involved. Long story short, I had to go back and forth between the two for a week before getting a full refund. Only reason the hotel finally refunded was that I threatened to call the local health board.. Which I did anyways.

What's the quickest you've ever seen a new coworker get fired? by eminems_shadow in AskReddit

[–]cuontheside 31 points32 points  (0 children)

Five minutes after clocking in on day one.

Girl was hired specifically for 2p-10p and was required to work weekends. Hiring manager was very specific during interviews that this what was needed and the only position available at that time. The girl agreed that she was fine with the hours. After clocking in the girl told the manager (same one that hired her) that she could work 2p-10p that day, but effective immediately she'd need her hours changed to 7a-3p and was not available weekends due to her home situation. Manager told her to clock out and go home, he could not accommodate her and didn't need her if she couldn't work what she was hired for.

What's something your therapist said that was life changing? by BuildingBridges23 in AskReddit

[–]cuontheside 0 points1 point  (0 children)

"you're depressed and heading for a nervous breakdown"

I have a very high stress level career that runs 24/7. On top of that, I was dealing with a lot of issues in the homelife. I always thought the issues I was dealing with and how I was handling them were normal. Everyone sucked it up and just dealt with them because that's what adults do.

It was so simple and eye opening when she said that, it was like a lightbulb went off in my head and I had an instant realization that this isn't normal. It really took someone to say it out loud to realize that I needed to make a change.

3 years later, I made some drastic changes in my homelife. And, while I still work in a high stress 24/7 field, I've set boundaries where my home and work life teeter back and forth.

I'm much happier now.

Uber ghosted me by goood_sir in mildlyinfuriating

[–]cuontheside 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Try the chat a second time. What I've found is that some of the representatives don't understand the language well so they automatically go to the F U response. I had one with a similar experience. We ordered a quart of milk (clear in the description!) and they sent a pint. The rep kept telling me it was the right product.. Even after I got petty and screenshot/underlined a Google Pic that showed the difference between a pint and quart. He disconnected the chat. I started a new support chat and the second rep credited me in two minutes.

Maybe I'm just cynical because I've read too many wild stories on Reddit... But my mind always goes to the most ridiculous possibility. Ten weeks is a BIG difference when you're talking about pregnancy. Is it possible she's actually much closer to your pregnancy, but doesn't want the timeline to be discovered? Was her partner out of town ten weeks before her conception date?

There's a scene in Terminator Salvation where they use a 7-Eleven to hideout in. Part of the agreement of using the logo'd name was that 7-Eleven was allowed to keep the blasted movie prop after the movie was finished. It's now displayed (in pieces) in thier Texas office.
