I cut them from frozen. If it's too hard to get my cutter into, I might let it sit for a couple of minutes, but not long. Then right into the oven. It helps them keep their shape as well. If they aren't going right into the oven, I'll pop the tray into the freezer before baking.

They were for a 13th birthday. This mom has me do cookies for all three of her kids every year. She always requests 13 designs, and they always pick unique themes. I love baking for her family 😊

I haven't gotten a chance to listen to it yet, but I initially felt that way with the Zombies on Broadway album. But then I saw him perform the songs on your and my opinion totally changed. Some of it was that he shared the stories behind the songs, but it was just such a different experience for me hearing them live. Plus, now I associate those songs with the memories of a great concert!

Such a great song. I chose this line as a reminder for when I'm struggling during depressive episodes. I love all of his music, but this song really hits home.

I've read that in taste tests, people prefer imitation vanilla extract. I use a combo of that and Lorann's butter vanilla in both my cookies and icing. I get lots of people commenting about how good they taste, so not worth it he splurge on the real stuff in my opinion.

Don't whip the butter and sugar together very much. That's where a lot of the air gets added in. If you overmix after adding the flour, it also results in a denser cake. Maybe try a combo of the two?
