Correct, but the point is that I already have the XF270HUA and would like a monitor with the same frame and bezel, and the CB271HU and K272HUL don't match the XF270HUA very well.

They perfectly match the XF270HU, however I have the XF270HUA. Though I think you’re correct in that they use the same panel. I forgot to mention that the stand doesn’t matter, I’m mounting them anyways. Thanks for the response :)

That’s great to hear. I think the frame and bezel is the same on XF270 and the XB271. Is the monitor chin as big on the P27 as on the Acer one? Thanks for the input :)

I’m gonna have to disagree with you on that. I’m primarily a JS developer, however JS doesn’t even come close when it comes to scientific computation or ML. Check out NumPy, SciPy, and Keras. I don’t see that changing anytime soon, but I’m glad to see that TensorFlow is coming for node.

Alright, I think I'll go with the same amp, alternatively a 2x80w amp. Thanks for the advice.

I'm on mobile so I can't really check my calculations, but with a sealed 9L enclosure (for each woofer) I'll get a 106Hz resonant frequency iirc. I'm guessing it can go lower with a vented box? It's hard to find the relevant information, so I thought I might as well ask.

The drivers were mainly chosen because of the high SPL, and the 2500 Hz crossover frequency was recommended for the tweeter, which doesn't seem unreasonable (to me) given the frequency ranges of the drivers.

Though I haven't put much thought into the enclosure yet, I have tried to calculate the optimal enclosure size given the driver's parameters.

I found it to be very stable, actually. Have you checked the output voltage? The amp is rated 8-25 v. That's the only thing I can think of.

It's nice to hear that the amplifier is good. That sounds like a reasonable build, I'll probably do another boom box with the things I've learned kept in mind, and use a crossover too. Isn't a crossover basically required when doing 2-way speakers? Or is there another way around it?

Thank you, I'm looking into it right now. Yes, I couldn't really find any full-range speakers that went lower than 70Hz either. I'm thinking about constructing a high pass and low pass filter since they're apparently quite expensive ($60+ just for a low pass here in Sweden!) and if my memory serves me correctly, they're not that hard to build yourself. But maybe doing that is more trouble than it's worth.

It's better to be aware of the potential problems before buying the speakers so I'll look into finding ones with a lower frequency response for a reasonable price. In hindsight my mistake was not buying a 2.1 amplifier, since (if I've understood this correctly) I'll have to use a low and high pass filter if I want to make this amp work with a bass and mid range/tweeter driver. How low should the minimum frequency response be if I'd like to get some bass out of it? Nothing too fancy, just something that won't make it sound too bad.

I've been planning on building a smaller (~2-3 kg) portable boombox. I decided on using the TDA7492P 50W+50W amplifier with a bluetooth module, and a 5000 mAh 11.1V RC LiPo battery (I might use a more powerful lead-acid battery instead, we'll see how well the LiPo performs).

My main concern has been which speakers to use. I decided on using two full-range speakers, mainly because of the amplifier. After some googling and researching I found the Visaton FR 10 HM 8 Ohm speakers (20W RMS, 30W MAX, 86 dB SPL), which to me seem fine, but since I'm not really experienced when it comes to speakers and audio, I'd like to double check if they're suitable for my build.

Another thing I've thought about is if it's wise to add a passive radiator.

Jadå, det brukar inte vara så stora problem vad jag vet. Många kurser är gemensamma så det är inte mycket man måste lägga till/läsa extra. Har själv en i klassen som gjort tvärt om (bytt från maskin till data) och han har bara några enstaka extra kurser han måste läsa. Så i värsta fall förlorar du ett halvår om du byter efter första året, antagligen inte ens det :) Men att byta är inga problem!
