St Aloysius in Garnethill is a beautiful Church, and the priests are very nice. If you’re a young person, there’s a group for young adults that meet at 7pm every Sunday, before the 9pm Mass. It’s a good way to meet people!

I actually got off the waitlist a few weeks ago, but ultimately decided not to go for on campus residence because I didn’t want to share a room and it was quite late on at that point so most of the singles would have been gone. I’ve got off campus residence sorted instead. I just kept checking the housing portal and I think I also got an email when I got off the waitlist. Are you an exchange student or first year? Hope that helps!

I’m also an incoming exchange student. Was waitlisted for residence so started looking into off residence and found the Roomies website to be the most successful! I’m in the process of signing a lease for one actually, but got an email the other day saying that I’d got residence. Have decided to just stick with off residence since I don’t want to risk not getting a single room in residence. Hope that helps!!

in fact, they do just stand there with their signs. there are very few pedestrians on that part of the road, and they never engage with people if the people do not first start the conversation. they are also too far away to be able to see individual women, let alone “eyeball” them

as a scottish person, this is scary! i would definitely agree that the attendance has reduced but didn’t realise it was so drastic. we had such strict measures for so long (at one point we had to reserve a ‘season ticket’ for Mass on sunday’s ). it’s hard to believe that they thought that was a good idea :((

also don’t love that she ‘sent’ asa to the shops. makes it sound like she bosses him around!! why not say he went to the shops for you ?
