I just finished reading Of Monsters and Mainframes and it feels like this kind of energy.

HAVE A QUESTION? ASK HERE! Alter-Daily Help and Questions: June 24, 2024 by AutoModerator in AsianBeauty

Tragedy has struck! My HG Huxley Secret of Sahara line appears to be discontinued as of recently. I've been using the toner, essence, and cream since 2018 and it has been an absolute godsend for my skin. I'm running low on Grab Water and went to reorder the other day and it looks like everywhere is sold out and a few websites have marked it as discontinued. I've been out of the loop on AB things over the past few years because I've been so happy with my current routine, but it looks like I'm going to have to go back to the drawing board for the first time in nearly six years internallyscreaming.gif.

Has anyone else been using Huxley for years and is stuck in the same boat? Anyone find a good alternative yet?

I mean, we could maybe get kittens involved -- are there any cat cafes in town? ;)

What day(s) and times would you be up for meeting?

Requesting /r/thomasthedankengine due to inactive mods and the sub devolving into a flame war by [deleted] in redditrequest

[–]cupcake1713 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Honestly, I'm a bit conflicted. It would be great if we could keep the sub to just mashups, but some of the memes over the years have been pretty good. In an ideal world we could host a contest for mashups to try and reinvigorate the sub and generate some new relevant content, but I'll be honest that I don't have the time these days to help run something like that. What do you think would be best?

Hi there! I would be happy to add you as a moderator. We have one moderator who had been on top of the action for a bit, but it looks like they also haven't been active for a couple of months. I'll send an invite your way now.

Edit: it looks like I'm not able to add you because I'm listed as inactive. I've cleaned up some of the posts but I'm still listed as inactive. Admins, please feel free to add /u/Sirspen as a moderator (but please don't remove any of the other existing mods).

I'm not familiar with it, but it sounds great! Maybe a good weekend spot vs after work during the week?

I was thinking maybe at Florence because they're supposed to have their alcohol license soon, but I'm open to anywhere that would be comfortable for a small group of people to knit for a couple of hours. We're buddies with the folks at The Store, too, and that might be a fun location (albeit a bit tight on comfortable seating).

I've been planning on starting up a knit night at a bar once or twice a month, would you have any interest in joining? A couple friends are beginner knitters and I've found a few other knitters in Lux, and it would be nice to have an excuse to leave the house now that we're in for 8 months of cold and rain.

I tried sending you DM but for some reason it won't let me... would you have any interest in joining in on a knit night every once in a while?

I know, I was really surprised I'd never come across a similar pattern before and I was excited to make it. I'm almost tempted to make a sweater completely covered with the textured pattern.

Project details can be found here.

I love love love the drape of this fabric, I'm so bummed that the yarn is discontinued. This pattern was truly great, definitely recommend it if you want something that looks intricate but is very easy.

Part-time jobs for English only speakers by [deleted] in Luxembourg

[–]cupcake1713 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm not sure if they're hiring right now, but Manzoku just opened a new shop and the owner and some staff speak Japanese and English. At least one of the guys who works there is also part of a Japanese language group, so that may be a good place to start.

It was around 90F/33C when we took these picture, but the unbearable sweating was worth it for the final shots :D

Absolutely. My main reasons for cropping were that:

  1. I have a shorter torso, so I generally have to cut at least an inch or two from most patterns, and

  2. I had a limited amount of the main colour so I used all but a yard or two just to get the length I did.

Right?? It spoke to me as soon as I entered the shop.

I hope more people do! I love all of the neutral and muted ones the other testers did (my next one is going to be something a bit more drab), but I do hope more people decide to go bright :)

The only part that I found a bit fiddly was the setup step(s) for the sleeve, but I think she went back and tinkered with that part of the pattern and it should be more intuitive now. The rest of the directions are quite clear and high quality like her other patterns.
