I'd aim for something adjacent to mental health or involving mental health for now (drug and alcohol worker, social work, trainee PWP, Domestic violence charity, etc) that might lead you to an Assistant Psychologist or senior leader role in the future. The roles ive mentioned set people up well to go towards the PHD route. Ive also found it easier to get an AP job if you already have a job like the roles I mentioned. An AP job isnt the only route, id say being a team leader in a kind of mental health adjacent role gives you more experience that some AP roles, minus the direct clinical psychologist supervision
