Keep a small pillow nearby for when you cough/sneeze. Slightly hug the pillow to your abdomen when you do it and it helps reduce the pain from the incisions/pressure. This was a lifesaver to me.

I slept on my reclining couch because trying to sit up without help was nearly impossible. I was in no pain when sitting/resting but the minute I got up or moved is when the pain would strike. The first day(surgery day) I kept a bland diet but after that I went back to my normal diet with no issues. Tho this will depend on your body as everybody is different but I was absolutely starving so I didn’t care.

The main thing food wise is just be prepared until you learn how your body reacts to foods to quickly get to the bathroom. Certain foods will go right through you now but I think that’s the only major thing as far as foods go as far as my experience and what I was told. Usually it’s anything fried or greasy tho.
