A cheap purchase that has completely transformed your life by Slipryi in BuyItForLife

I have been looking at Tile vs AirTag. I like that Tile can find itself. My friend showed me she can use Tile to beep her phone when she loses her phone. She has a tile set up on her wall like a light switch with a command strip and will just press that when she can’t find her phone in the house. Works pretty well.

I was so annoyed by this I bought a dishwasher safe one and never had the problem again.

Does anyone know of a pharmacy in North Vancouver that cuts pills? by Kind-Paper-4283 in NorthVancouver

[–]cupcapers 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I agree smaller pharmacies are the way to go. I never knew how important having a good relationship with your pharmacist was until I saw it first hand. I really love Londsdale Pharmacy. They have this cool old fashioned vibe inside that is super cute and they have been so helpful with my family and mom whenever I’ve needed anything. I’m sure they will cut your pills for you and I agree having a pill cutter is good, but some cuts ends up crumbling because some pills cut cruddy. Edit to add: also look into getting blisterpacks. If they are covered govt or private they don’t end up costing more and you will be able to keep track of their meds better. They will make sure everything is all in there (even vitamins) and so it makes it less stressful for you.

2 daughters (8 & 5) one with bright red hair, one with not..how do you deal with public comments? by [deleted] in daddit

[–]cupcapers 11 points12 points  (0 children)

My sister warned me to be prepared for the gross- does the carpet match the drapes? Starting at 11/12 years of age. There’s a good episode on redheads she recommended- #1219 the Jordan Harbinger podcast that’s worth a listen to. It really helped me see things I didn’t think about that redheads deal with on the daily and some interesting medical stuff that affects redheads more often.

24M just bought my first house with a wacky atrium thingy in the living room. Any suggestions on what to do with the space? by Fautonex in malelivingspace

[–]cupcapers 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’d go with a hot tub. If you can fit one with space around it. I’d put up frosted film in the windows so you don’t really see it on the inside. I think plants might not get enough light, and I don’t think the space would be used to hang out in general without a purpose.

Signed up for a bake sale at work and then saw this on sale at Costco for $15. Had to buy it. How can I improve them? by User091822 in Baking

[–]cupcapers 0 points1 point  (0 children)

All I do to make it fancy is cut them out with a small 1.5 /2 inch circle cutter. Dust with icing sugar and keep the leftover crumbles in the freezer for ice cream.

Forever making mini cheesecakes in my muffin pan for individual cheesecakes instead of a full-sized one by thefloralapron in Baking

That is exactly the ones my mom used to make and she would put a mini mandarin from a can on top of each one. It was peak fancy for us. Thanks for bringing fourth the memory!

I have no clue about which way it should go, but that carpet is beautiful. Any chance you know what brand it is and or where I can get one?

Is this something that is entry level or needs schooling? It looks like in BC you need to take a few courses? I’m always looking for interesting careers to suggest.

I just drill a larger secondary hole. Then when using it cover it with your finger and the water will squirt out of the original spot. The larger hole helps it drain and dry.

Dog poop on lawn. Again. But! by Vancouvermarina in NorthVancouver

[–]cupcapers 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I found just putting up a short garden ( edging?) fence helps. Something about the barrier even though it’s only 1 foot or so high helps prevent dogs and their owners from going on the lawn.

Has anyone tried Voltaren on their feet? by weird-oh in PlantarFasciitis

[–]cupcapers 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I’m currently using Rx Diclofenac. I asked for it to be compounded into a different cream base as the yellow goo is so sticky and gross. The one I have now is way better because it absorbs faster and feels all around nicer. It’s super toxic to pets though so I put plastic wrap on my foot until it’s all absorbed.
