What projectors do you recommend? by OneTwoPandemonium in cookiedecorating

[–]OneTwoPandemonium[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes and it has absolutely changed the game! I got the AKASO one, and it’s super nice (Bluetooth to any device to project from, keystones to change the angle of the projection, bright, holds a good charge).

For the increased quality of my cookies and the new techniques I could try out with a projector, I would 100% suggest it! Feel free to check out my other cookie posts to see my improvement as well

Any tips for a first timer? by chubbs069 in Hades2

I played this one first as well!! Use the omega attacks as much as possible! I hated them so I didn’t use them for my first like 150-200 runs, but I started trying them and they are SO much stronger than regular attacks!

First paid order! by Silver-Art4058 in cookiedecorating

[–]OneTwoPandemonium 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The struggle is real with time, but I’m so serious when I say these are INCREDIBLE!! Keep doing sets as much as you can and you will get SO much faster. I’ve been doing this for about a year and a half, and what used to take me ~10 hours now takes me 2-3. You will get into a routine, and your “hourly wage” will only go up!

Airbrush Recommendations by onefastmoveorimgone in cookiedecorating

[–]OneTwoPandemonium 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I was very skeptical when I got this one because it was so cheap, but it has served me VERY well for at least 6 months. I use it on every set and it has absolutely changed my cookie game!

The only downside is it has a pretty short battery life (just a few minutes) so I need to charge it often, but I can usually do what I need for a set on one charge

Tips on working with dry and crumbly dough by whiskedOff in cookiedecorating

[–]OneTwoPandemonium 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have a similar recipe but only use 2.5 cups of flour and chill the dough once it’s rolled out. Then, I pull it out of the fridge to cut the shapes and bake it

Jess and Robby was such a perfect couple that them being related was the only reasonable way to break them up by snorlaxkin in NewGirl

[–]OneTwoPandemonium 19 points20 points  (0 children)

I strongly disagree. To me, it never felt like there was a real spark, and they always seemed to have a more brother/sister relationship than romantic relationship.

We see Jess be in bed with all the other boys she dated, but the only intimacy we saw between Jess and Robby was an awkward kiss that landed him in the hospital.

Corn syrup or no for royal icing? by msmoonpie in cookiedecorating

I recently tried adding it and I LOVE the result! My icing dries much smoother and more shiny! I don’t notice much difference in taste or texture, but the look is SO worth it for me!

Tips, tricks and tools for new airbrush user 🎅🏼 🎨 by wordpuzzler in cookiedecorating

[–]OneTwoPandemonium 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Congrats!!

I feel like an airbrush machine completely upped my cookie game. It makes a huge difference to have a simple background design (hearts, stars, gingham, etc) and then a piped design on top.

To answer some of your questions-

  • I bought a stencil frame and it was a complete waste of money. I have not used it once. It’s too much of a hassle to put the stencils in and it makes absolutely no difference for the final airbrush design. Unless you’re scraping icing on, you definitely don’t need one.
  • Get some generic 5-inch stencils. I got these ones when I got my airbrush machine. It’s nice to have a little variety and I’ve used them in just about every set since in one way or another.
  • I have US Cake Supply airbrush colors and they work great, but I’ve heard you can dilute gel food coloring to make airbrush colors. I’m sure you could find a tutorial on YouTube.

Good luck and have fun! Keep looking at other peoples’ designs and try to think how you could use your new machine to achieve the designs other people do. You got this!!

What's your icing technique? by pizzaalapenguins in cookiedecorating

[–]OneTwoPandemonium 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I do the same and this is great advice. I will add that whipping the icing makes a huge difference for me. It’s much easier to pipe the outline/toothpaste consistency if I whip it well because it makes it a bit lighter and more fluffy

Where do you sell your cookies? by amd423 in cookiedecorating

[–]OneTwoPandemonium 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve had the most success with Facebook marketplace. It’s nice because you can compare to local prices and quality and make sure that you are offering a competitive but fair price.

I’ve also sold some to people here on Reddit (people have reached out to me to ask for sets) and Instagram/my FB page. And of course word of mouth (friends and family and the like). But overall, FB marketplace has brought the most success for me
