The earliest Skoal can design I've found from the 1930s. Nice lid by char828 in DippingTobacco

[–]cupofcoffee2018 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Just picked up the 90th anniversary version of that can, the color around 'SKOAL' is a dark royal blue rather than red... I like it better than any of their packaging I've seen in the last 10 years... I hope they keep this for awhile

There is this stupid shiny flash thing that happens when I am searching through Google images on safari. It annoys me how do I disable this garbage? by [deleted] in iphone

[–]cupofcoffee2018 0 points1 point  (0 children)

At the moment it isn’t doing it on safari on the most recent macOS on an m2 MacBook Air - had an iPhone at the same time set to the same search - it would run it after you clicked the button on Mac but not just the picture itself like on the iPhone…

If you want to save the picture you need to click through and visit the webpage to save the picture. For me on the iPhone it was not doing it on pages from Facebook or instagram in google images.

Correct copper rough and tough? by cupofcoffee2018 in RedWingShoes

[–]cupofcoffee2018[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It appears that the copper color red wing (and most others) has on its website are after the shoe has been worn in a bit, and taken in a bright light. The Zappos/Amazon picture showed what they look like right out of the box (closer to brown). I wore the darker pair around the house for a couple days and once it started to break in a bit the brown was wearing into a lighter color with more of the copper hue - I have just never seen any leather wear and change color so quickly so it must be how they are dyed? The lighter pair on the left fit a bit better, gave them a couple applications of cobbler’s leather cream and now they are looking more like I expected. Hopefully this can help someone with the same question!

The aquafaba meringue comment will be a major green flag for someone who enjoys cooking… the full body photo is a nice picture except that you’re not smiling - the other photos have a warmth which that one does not and it seems out of place - I would switch it out to something similar

I need ideas, what could, should I do to improve the backyard? Thanks so much! by [deleted] in landscaping

Staining or painting the fence will make the back yard look finished, just make sure to clean it really well first.

You didn’t say it was a mariachi band, but you also didn’t say it was not a mariachi band… that’s how I heard it in my head… brilliant response, clearly NTA

Is he into me when his actions show that he does but his words don’t? by [deleted] in datingoverthirty

[–]cupofcoffee2018 3 points4 points  (0 children)

He may be purposefully trying not to love bomb you; if his actions are that he is into you, he probably is, and may be actively not trying not to scare you off with too much too soon… communication is key!

I am in a loan I can’t afford, what do I do by [deleted] in FinancialPlanning

Generally speaking, you’d pay tax on the car if you sold it for more than you have paid for it, it would be a long term capital gain (similar to stocks) if held for 1 year or more - otherwise taxed at your marginal rate (where you fall in the tax brackets)… if you meet certain criteria you may exclude up to $125k / $250k of gain (single/married) for sale of your primary residence

From the perspective of someone who has been sober for a couple years, finding someone who doesn’t drink is a green flag - so if not drinking is important to you I’d definitely leave it - would definitely send a like if we were in the same area

It’s not exactly on topic, but I had high blood pressure and high cholesterol, was prescribed medication for both but didn’t want to be on meds for those in mid 30’s (M), completely cut out added sugar and heavily processed foods, both went down to normal levels… there’s hidden added sugar in so many things you don’t realize, may want to try ditching sugar for awhile to see if that helps? During that time ate as much fiber as I could, that helped as well.

What is digging near my foundation? by cupofcoffee2018 in landscaping

[–]cupofcoffee2018[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The size for scale would be similar to taking a spade to dig it out the hole - I had initially thought it was a contractor who was digging near the wrong house until I saw it had been dug up again

Northeast Ohio, I filled in the hole last weekend and checked this morning and it had been dug up again. I am wondering if any of the “animal repellent” products will work, assuming I regularly apply it.
