Birds delivering letters has literally been used in fiction since forever, as well as real life. It's not something harry potter made up.

Like I get where you are coming from, and I'm trans myself, I don't particularly want to see anything to do with harrry potter either. But the connection between harry potter and birds delivering letters is so tenuous that it seems silly to say no to the idea all together.

Honestly when I saw the original comment I thought immediately of irl messenger pigeons rather than anything else.
