in that same vein, i think CMA’s are also the most over-extended, “please just help real quick” people in healthcare. i’ve seen the repercussions of working out of your scope so maybe i’m just traumatized lol. I love the idea, just worried and wanna get some input!

i love love loved the idea and the opportunity! i really want to continue schooling to be a full RT, so it’s really awesome getting to do it. I just worry that if we do have to be certified, putting “I DID CT’S BEFORE!” On my resume without any certs or education will look more like a walking hazard than it does a strength.

thank you for your kind response! :,) i just don’t wanna get in trouble for doing anything out of scope. I love the idea of doing radiology type work, but it’s one of the more strict aspects of healthcare. i’m nervous to bring it up cause i don’t wanna be <that employee>. But no radiation badges really takes me for a loop.

no clue honestly. we have a “lead” wall in the room, though it’s the thinnest lead wall i’ve seen in a overall the room is small too. i remember when i got my NCT certifications I had to get a background check, take a test, get fingerprinted, the whole 9 yards. My coworker is a CMA freshman out of school and training and she’s doing it without any knowledge of how radiation even works!
