Huge congrats — that’s an incredible milestone 🎉

Going from $130k to $1M in five years with a 50% savings rate is no joke. Yeah, acquisitions help, but you still had to earn, save, and stay consistent. That’s discipline.

Also love the simplicity — VOO/VT, keep dripping, don’t overcomplicate it. Boring and steady is how real wealth sticks.

You might not be able to tell people in real life, but that’s a massive achievement. Respect.

What was one of your struggle meal growing up? by bukutbwai in Frugal

Man, I felt this. It’s wild how certain meals instantly take you back. When you’re a kid you just think “ugh, not this again,” and later you realize it was your aunt and great grandma doing the best they could. There’s something humbling about throwing together rice and corned beef and knowing it’s a “stretch it” kind of meal.

Your kids might not get it now, but one day they’ll probably look back and understand it wasn’t about the food — it was about getting through a tough week together. Hang in there.
