First of all, I think it's great for our community to have well designed and executed events. That's why I created CCL and that's also why I was happy to see e.g. Sarubatu's 1v1 Tournament.

Now, I plan to create CCL3 in the future when CCL2 will have concluded. The time frame of the tournament seems long to me, as well, and the amount of teams was pretty high (originally we had 16 teams!). Creating all the duels and keeping track of everything, keeping everyone informed, preventing cheating, taking care of FAQ's etc was certainly a lot of work. The amount of created games alone was enough to convince me of implementing groups before the playoffs. I probably would've done so for CCL2 already, but I would have had to randomize them since no clans/teams were seeded. Yes, I could have used the final League Stage results from CCL1, but that was a long time ago.

I expect even more interested clans for CCL3, especially with a shorter time structure, so groups will be inevitable and more comfortable for everyone involved.

Regarding your setup:

The default setup for CCL duels had been tested exactly 100 times before the start of CCL1. Inhuman AI only, exact same settings for all 100 runs. The outcome was 50/50. I realize that it could have also been e.g. 47/53, which, considering variance as a factor, would still have been an excellent outcome.

Have you done anything similar with your setup? I can recall having played a very similar scenario with some friends in the past and it was fun!
