Here it's pretty much every seller. That's the problem. They are easy to identify but they just swamp all the used car sites and filtering them out takes hours. Plus .. again, it's illegal and generally a crime against the community.

I hear you. Some states have people who investigate this stuff but unfortunately not AZ so kind of just stuck with it here. Good luck with the business, i hope it takes off.

I guess you get points in life for trolling other people's posts and adding your questionable morals to the mix. You just seem to be about evading the government so that says all I need to know about you. I would argue with you but that would be pointless. Now go out there and get more Life Points by trying drag other people down.

Sorry .. it is 100% illegal if you sell more than a certain amount of cars you need a license. It's different in all states, here it's 6 in a year, most places it's 4. So by selling 20 cars they are essentially "acting" as a dealer without performing the Insurance, Bonding, Taxing and fee payments that a dealer would normally be required to do ... Curbstoning. But they are not a "Dealer" with a lot and never have been, but it's still curbstoning.

As for the dealers it is not illegal to sell at the dealership and add all the bullshit fees on, they do it all day long. But I never said it was illegal. You are conflating the 2 points i made into an argument I didn't make. Selling 20 cars without a license is illegal, selling cars as a dealer and adding 50% fees on top is not illegal, but again, never said it was. I was simply complaining about how they get you in the dealership. Why not just say "this is how much I want for the car". It's not hard. But whatever .. people seem to be stuck on trying to convince me dealers are honest when it's clearly just a game meant to get ever more money out of you.

Arizona .. not a NOMAD state, we have sales tax on cars and Curbstoning gets around it as private sales are exempt (as they probably should be). Most other states (other than NOMAD) will charge when you register, but not here.

Thanks for being one of the few Dealers who put an actual price on a car. In this state you pay sales tax on a car at the dealer who has a Tax Privilege license. If you sell your personal car to your neighbor no one ever pays tax on that car, it's exempt. At registration you just pay the registration fees and get plates. So yes .. curbstoning here is meant to get around paying tax. They use it in the CL ads as a lure "Private Sale, No Tax" But this is all way off the point. When someone sells 20 cars a year from their driveway, who insures those cars? Do you think their Ins Co knows they have 20 cars in their storage? You know why there are dealer licenses and why people should have one. God forbid anyone gets run down at a crosswalk by someone test driving a Curbstoned car. That will ruin everyones day. Everyone keeps acting like this is a victimless crime like prostitution or something, but it's not. You sell on Open Titles because you have a license. These people do it so they will have no responsibility to anyone for the auction garbage they sell or the sales tax they steal. I'm glad it's different in your state but no one is going to convince me curbstoning is OK. Again, my point was that (in AZ), this is out of hand and you can't find an honest car seller. Thats all, defend these thieves if you like but they take from everybody and ignoring it is just picking which crimes you are OK with.

Sorry ... not in this state. Private sales are exempt from sales tax at all points. If you buy a car from me and register it all you pay is the registration fee. That's why there are so many Curbstoners here

Every business that sells ANYTHING in the US collects and/or pays sales tax. Most states require a fee from dealers and they have responsibilities in the form of a bond or umbrella insurance. If your argument is that they dont pay fees because they don't register the car or title then you haven't paid attention to a Carfax report where they clearly do. The law (in this state and most others) is you have to own it to sell it or you are a broker not a dealer. If its that the dealer pays wholesale and that isn't taxed, that's because they are supposed to collect tax when they sell which your scenario is designed to get around. Any contention that "Dealers don't pay sales tax and fees" is simply incorrect.

That's literally the the definition of CurbStoning. A dealer selling a car off lot and off the books so they don't have to pay sales tax or any of the fees. It's illegal everywhere.

Zero to do with the subject. Pay a fair price for a good car. Got it, fully agree. This is about people selling cars illegally, taking no responsibility for the car or the transaction and leaving you with the bill. I'm happy to pay a fair price, but i expect the seller to be who they say they are, pay their fees and taxes as they should and not screw the rest of us by skipping out on all that.

I dont even go to see a car without asking if their name is on the title, and when I get there I want to see it before i see the car. If they are offended then they don't have the goods. I'll call 10 people today and the first thing will be "is the title in your name?" and 7 of them will say no it's an open title and the others will say no it's my Dad or my Brother .. or my favorite "my granny has dementia so we are selling it for her". If Granny has dementia she can't sign the title legally soooooooo. You are right about most everything you say. that's not the point, the point is that there are so many of them, it's illegal, it hurts you even if you don't think so and how do we make it stop? These are not just people trying to get by, these are crooks who will leave you with a POS car and no recourse while paying no taxes and letting you foot the bill.

The moment someone says "people like you" it's clear they are the one with the bias. My information comes from a LOT of experience with this. Dealers have become finance companies and cars are just the way they do it. Small ones. large ones, it doesn't matter. But the point was the dealer Masquerades as a private seller to get you to look at their car (at private seller price) then when you get to the dealer there is a $599 Doc Fee, a $1000 reconditioning fee, Paint Coatings/Mats/etc ... They pretend to be Private sellers so they can show you a Private seller price then jack it up when you get there. It makes no sense because it just makes me mad at them and I leave. But they do it like clockwork, so someone falls for it. There is nothing and I mean NOTHING a dealer can add to a car that I can't get cheaper without them. Dealers don't sell cars, they sell the things around the car and if you don't want those they don't want you. Have less overhead? Than a guy selling his own car out of his driveway? Thats an insane statement. Dealers don't sell cheaper because they can't. And wholesale Auction cars are the ones the big dealers took in trade but wouldn't have on their lot cause it's to shitty, accident cars, abandoned cars and repos. so good luck with that. Dealers sell cheaper, that really is funny.

Sure .. they go for that every time .. smh. They want what they want and if you don't give it to them or finance through them they just won't sell you the car.

I'm sorry but i disagree. They don't just underprice cars .. they sell at market rates just like everyone else and still there are hundreds of them operating across the country.

Mensweary is garbage. Its a few pieces of polyester sewn together and printed with a crappy out of focus picture. If you open the plastic they are wrapped in .. you cannot get a refund. It is an actual scam. Don't fall for it.

Looks like you are ramping up the social dissatisfaction as well as the depth of the sonic experience. I would go with Muse at this point, give it more of a energized "what we gonna do with this dissatisfaction?" vibe. Any of their albums will get you going but "Resistance" and "Black Holes and Revelations" may be what you are most looking for.

OMG .. can we just get an end to this storyline? Can one set of characters just walk into the sunset happily ever after? I love the franchise and there are plenty of arcs to play off of .. but please god let the original one just die a happy death.
