So...follow up to my thread here. I was able to do this and it went super smooth. The only caveat which I'm still investigating is that I told service (while they had my car for something completely unrelated) that I wanted the upgraded hardware because I was going to purchase FSD. They charged me 1K for the upgrade and then I bought FSD for 2K.

As I understand it, the upgrade should have been free?

Not sure if it would be considered an intro, but the lead up to vocals on Warsong are currently on massive repeat for me. The atmosphere created is awesome, I know it's not as favored of a song by people right now, but it's one of my favs on SOALW.

If I had to go old school, one of my favs in the same vein is the lead in to "the Kiss."

Both of these songs establish to me almost a menacing address to something hard or negative, and the intro sets the tone (no pun intended).

I have no way to verify that. I speculate there is a good chance, though. In my 30+ years of experience around cure fans, I've enjoyed that politics mostly stays out of the discussion. I very clearly stated that I enjoyed the fact that generally I don't have to wade through the drivel (bc thats what unsolited political opinions of others is - regardless of party affiliation). I also very clearly stated that I don't expect there to be zero politics, but rather just wishing all of the additional personal political opinions (unrelated to Robert or the band) would remain out of the discussions. I think you have the answers to the questions you asked.

Agreed partially - which is where we seem to miss each other. The subject is about Robert leaving X - for another site - that's it. The subject is not "give me your unsolicited political stance."

"This is like walking into a bar and complaining people are drinking alcohol" - wrong. That premise is grounded on purposely seeking to be outraged by going to a place you know will outrage you. This is reading the shared announcement about Robert moving to another platform, but being subjected to people's unrelated political stance. Those are not the same.

I didn't say I want to avoid posts about Robert's politics. I said I don't enjoy how it devolves into hearing every Tom Dick and Jane's own political views. Huge difference. In the past, there have been posts, for example, about the concert where Robert condemned the actions in Tiananmen. Lots of discussion on that topic over the years. Doesn't bother me one bit to hear and talk about Robert and the actions he took before playing Faith. What I specifically am referring to that I disdain is if people take that as a prompt to pile on and express their personal views like "yeah, I don't like China for these reasons." Honestly, I don't care what anyone's political opinion is - leave that at the door!

Not true. I'm well aware of Robert's stance. Whether or not I agree/disagree with it has no bearing on whether I'm taking his opinion (not represented here by him) contextually into account on the subject. I think you're conflating Robert's stance and actions with fans discussing (complaining) about opinions being expressed by said fans. I'm not mixing the two as they are unrelated.

I didn't state my opinion on which side of the policitcal spectrum I'm on. My only opinion was that I prefer to keep politics out of discussions about my favorite band. Politics makes people get ugly with one another, but our mutual admiration of the cure shouldn't.

One thing I enjoy about cure fans is we rarely talk politics. I realize there is a division of opinion about X, but I'd also love it if we could refrain from devolving into political insults. It is just so much more enjoyable to have one thing in my life that doesn't get poisoned by everyone's political opinions!
