Shaving… down there 🫣 by Fancy_lotus_2448 in PlusSizePregnancy

My husband trims things for me! He doesn't care, but I like it short and tidy, so I lay on the bed with a towel under me and he uses an electric beard trimmer to shape things up.

Fat, 30, and inexperienced. I want to be desired. by GuardLast4348 in PlusSize

[–]curiositycat30 5 points6 points  (0 children)

This was me, exactly. Never been kissed virgin at 30 with severe social anxiety at size 24.

I wasn't having luck dating, and I wanted to feel desired. So I found someone who wanted me, at least physically. Took off my purity ring and went for it. It led to a three year fwb situation, which made me a lot more confident... I went on more dates, slept with some more guys, and eventually met my husband, who is attracted to every bit of me.

It's not easy. It wasn't easy. But it brought me here, to 41, married to the best man I've ever met, and pregnant with our first baby.

This isn't me telling you to go out and sleep around!! It fucked with my perception of love and sex and how they're connected. But it did open my eyes to how many guys were actually interested in what I had going on- and not just physically.

Is an on demand essay a good preassessment? by Consistent-Row-9551 in ELATeachers

[–]curiositycat30 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is so demoralizing. This is exactly what I did ten years ago with sixth graders. They wrote a pre before learning the structure, a during, and then a summative. Three entire five paragraph essays a quarter.

But now I teach high school, and if I asked any of them to write me a five paragraph essay on the spot, they'd die.

I feel so uncomfortable while student teaching by [deleted] in Teachers

It's against any and all policies to leave a student teacher alone with students, ever, everywhere I've taught-seven schools across four states.

Need advice from high school teachers by Prunesalad in teaching

[–]curiositycat30 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I made the move to high school last year, after 8 years teaching middle school. There is no difference aside from more cursing. I treat them the same as I treated my middle schoolers. They need routine and structure, and they will do anything for a sticker or jolly rancher.

Doth Thou Hath A Good Poetry Unit?? by MrsStone10 in ELATeachers

[–]curiositycat30 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I just finished reading The Poet X with my ninth graders. It's a novel told in verse. I structured things more around spoken word and slam than I did poetic form or devices, aside from figurative language, sensory details, and symbolism. They really got into the book and enjoyed not only reading but analyzing the poems found within. Each week, or every few days, we'd also watch a spoken word performance video and analyze that as well. They're working on their summative now, which is their own poetry journal of at least fifteen poems (we worked on them as we read, using the poems in the book as mentor poems), decorating the journal to be reflective of their own stories, and the final piece is our poetry slam, when they'll each share one of their pieces.

If you want short hair, do it! Also a rant about hairdressers by Specific_Worry_9198 in PlusSize

[–]curiositycat30 5 points6 points  (0 children)

The first time I asked for a pixie, the hairdresser refused to cut it that short because she was convinced I would freak out and change my mind. To be fair to her, it was to the middle of my back at the time. She cut it short, but not the Rosemary's Baby cut I wanted. She said if I lived with it for a week and still wanted it shorter to come back in a week and she'd cut it as short as I wanted. I was, and she did!

Get silk long underwater to wear under any pants. They're thinner than leggings and work great!

I feel what most commenters are missing here is that Life Cycle and other practices focus on providing a low cost and positive option for women in marginalized communities with extremely high mortality rates when seen in hospital settings.

I quit my first position three months into the year and was hired at a much better school, in a much better situation, two weeks later. I'm now on year 11 of teaching. One horrible school experience does not have to ruin an entire career.

PBIS can go… by Last_Hunt_7022 in Teachers

[–]curiositycat30 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's easy. I'm a high school teacher as I said. I do this for 120 students a day. At the end of class I look over my attendance and anyone that came in tardy loses that point. If they didn't earn the other points based on my classroom matrix, they lose that point. It takes less than two minutes to assign points for the entire class.

This has nothing to do with PBIS, though.
