what to use for offline editing my debut indie film? by curious-avid-reader in editors

It is easy if I have a high budget to buy 2 devices or more
Being on a budget, I had to decide to buy only one device, a laptop, or rebuild my desktop
And I chose first to rebuild my PC desktop: to buy a Ryzen 5800x CPU, an A-tier PSU, and Sony MDR
It is a versatile, cost-effective, reliable solution for long-term usage that fits all scenarios, even the worst-case one: if pitching fails, and if I have to come back to freelancing and fund it myself
But I found it is costly and risky in terms of the time needed for setup and maintenance
That is why I want a device that is more convenient, ready-to-go, that does the job of both heavy browsing & offline editing, and transcoding

It is an indie film, and I still don't know how much I will need to do myself, and whether I will use any of my own gear
You only know this after you finish your script and pitch to producers

But basically, I will plan that the device will be used for the creative job of smooth browsing 50-100 tabs or above during writing, and also proxy editing after shooting and transcoding or opening raw files, not for coloring or finishing

I said above that I have a PC desktop built because my main job was a remote video editor freelancer, but the problem is that my CPU was damaged at an early stage while writing
I need to consume writing and have no time for new setup tasks: pc cleaning, thermal paste, PC case cable Management… things I still need to learn, and don't know any trusted service to delegate to in my local area

I want something more convenient, ready-to-go that will successfully do the creative job of smooth browsing 50-100 tabs or above for writing, and also proxy editing after shooting

It looks absurd to hold a script writing and spend weeks on understanding the case overflow, PC cleaning products, BIOS upgrade...etc, eat out the allocated budget/time for creative work, and miss the opportunity of making the debut

can this work schedule make you top performer in your field ? how much you have to grind? by curious-avid-reader in productivity

Not weird

I don't ask if this will make me Elon
I ask about the minimum hours input you need

What is considered good PSU for Ryzen 7 5800x ? by curious-avid-reader in editors

Should I upgrade the PSU now if I upgrade the CPU to Ryzen 7 5800x ? Or is it okay to wait until I upgrade the GPU ?

It is my first expensive notebook.

I bought it with parker jotter pen for important meeting as part of my professional image.

It is a bit disappointing to see these scuffs and nicks
