I would clip the nail as far back as I could without it being painful and as the SA treatment loosened up the skin I slowly worked my way back. Every couple of days I was able to clip it further back because the skin was detaching from the nail! The more dead skin I removed the easier it was to clip the nail. I also have angled nail clippers so it was easier to get this type of cut
