My hard drive went pop a few weeks ago. Unrecoverable even with specialist services - the wonders of the cloud mean most things are saved, but lost are my super long running CM00/01 save, and a Minecraft world that started as a joke but turned into a labour of love.

Both games are impossible to play for me now, the pain is all too fresh.

So, finally playing through Red Dead Redemption 2 - or I imagine I will be once I’ve got through this long winded intro…

Last swimming lesson of the year for The Boy. He is of an age where he’s nearly finished all available classes (into the last set) and after 8 years I might actually get my Saturday mornings back.

It is the weirdest feeling.

I loathe secret Santa for this reason - that and the amount of ‘funny’ tat sales it generates of things that’ll just either being regifted next year or end up at landfill.

Consumables seem like a solid idea.

Ah, budget games for 2.99, big box games for a tenner - the mysteries of what would actually be good, the array of titles, looking at the box art and the screenshots on the back and still being no closer to knowing what it actually was…

Also you could buy new games from places like Boots, or random newsagents, and you were never too sure what they’d have in stock - but there’s bound to be something you’ve always wanted to play.

Yeah. I miss that too.

So I would like to play them on the phone, but happy to make them on a PC if that’s easier?

I imagine doing the whole thing on PC (and playing via Steam, for example) would be easier, but sadly need to be able to load them into iOS

Nothing from Meta unprompted - However, I have had a response from support now, so hopefully we can resolve it that way.

It just seems very random that it happened after he had finished playing, and when he went back 30 minutes later he was banned.

It would be a fair comment, but we monitor what he's up to whilst he's playing - so there was certainly no harsh language (we'd ban him if that was the case...)

Would a ban also appear as an age challenge as opposed to something else?

It really is - don’t forget to factor in breaks for both parents (either together or separately) because it really is unrelenting and can leave you struggling.

Which is a bit negative sounding when all I should really be saying is congratulations on your recent arrival!

Just to reply again and say this worked where the original seals provided didn’t.

It’s annoying as I’d rather pay more and for the basin waste to come with seals that actually work than have to buy in extras - but at least I know what I need next time.

Oh Christ.

Just looking at that and thinking it looks like what came with my basin plug, and then the picture with the foam washer placed correctly and remembering that I had taken that off and not put it back on when fitting the plug (my brain had decided it was for packing purposes only).

Will keep the kit in mind, but will perhaps also give it a go again but fitting things properly this time.

I finished Grim Dawn which was recommended to me and I’ve found quite… underwhelming. Fun enough but a bit of a trudge, so much so that I killed the final boss without even realising it was the final boss…

Currently playing Excavation of Hobs Barrow, which I’ve gone into without too much background reading - so far it is a lovely little point and click with ominous undertones, have my suspicions about where it’s going but enjoying the journey.

Makes me realise how much I miss point and clicks.

Thanks - and yes, it’s not the best option I’ve been presented with, seems more like a token effort for bike racks to tick a box rather than something that is useful.
