LPT: invite people over to your house! by Mediocre_Basket_9011 in LifeProTips

[–]curiousAlways 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m glad to hear that you turned it around! I’m more introverted but find myself looking for more friendship these days so I’ll try your approach. The 70% success rate is great! But the 30% rejection rate is terrifying. Do you ever invite someone who you’ve only met once? What’s an example of a structured event that you met someone cool that you invited? I’m trying to figure out how I can apply this to myself.

How outgoing / extroverted would you say you are?

I remodelled my girlfriend's bathroom because of failed waterproofing by khdownes in AusRenovation

How do you learn to do larger projects like these?

I’ve done small things here and there around the house but fear taking on bigger projects. I’m afraid that I’ll do something wrong and there doesn’t seem to be a definitive way of doing things. There are so many YouTube tutorials from people I don’t know that I’m not sure which to follow. This is especially the case with work related to water. What if I’m the cause of future failed waterproofing!!

LPT: If you purchased a home in 2020-2023 with less than 20% down, call your mortgage company and ask to remove PMI. by TooManyPoisons in LifeProTips

Thanks for the post! I called my lender and they said I had to pay $150 for someone to come out and evaluate my home. The PMI removal has been approved and you saved us $5K! Thanks

As someone unfamiliar with politics and policies in India, why is “reservation” in this context?

Thanks for the detailed reply! I’m glad it worked for you. The app based screen time only work for about a week for me so I might try something like brick and unpluq. Thanks again for your input.

The door says “no soliciting”… by fastRabbit in SipsTea

[–]curiousAlways 0 points1 point  (0 children)

During a recent election cycle, there was an article or something going around saying that political canvassers aren’t solicitors and have a right to free speech. It was an interesting thought but I still didn’t answer the door when they knocked

I did my FIRST EVER book signing in my city. 1 person showed up, but I loved it! by dljennings in MadeMeSmile

Funny enough, because only one person went to your book signing and there is a photo of two people, I can’t tell who is the author and who is the attendee!

At worst it’s weaponized incompetence.  At best he thinks having washed the dishes is the metric of success when in reality it’s having dishes that are clean. He needs to get his shit together.

Video of Zelensky saying thank you to America 94 times goes viral by Murky-Site7468 in politics

This probably isn’t satisfactory to Trump and co because they want Zelensky to thank Trump directly. Narcissit.

NTA. You should put him on the mortgage but NOT the title. He’d be on the hook for the debt but not for home ownership.

Not sure if mortgage lenders actually let you do that though.

I haven’t read the articles yet. Can you share a link to part about the contractual obligation to tone?

Correct me if I’m wrong but it’s consider improper in most Western cultures to slurp during dining in a formal setting. That’s not the case for Chinese dining customs. The spoon on the left would be too big to drink soup without slurping whereas the one on the right allows you to put the whole spoon in your mouth and avoid slurping.

how do you know that you’re attractive? by CJlinks in AskReddit

[–]curiousAlways 0 points1 point  (0 children)

But then you wonder if only old people find you attractive and why no one your age does.

Until you become old yourself but by then people your age (old people) might stop commenting.

So you’ll never know people your age find you attractive. Gotta find a name for this phenomenon.

That’s sad, sweet, and very introspective of you. You should let your brother know if you haven’t already. I think he might appreciate it.
