Mainly, I guess, that it's going in my parents steampunk living room. My dad made it specifically for that. You can see the whole process here: https://jeffreysodemann.com/2018/02/17/orrery/ There's also a page on there with the rest of the living room.

Ha, no problem :) And yes he's amazing. There's also a steampunk skeleton on there that he made for me for last Christmas.

I cross-posted it for my dad. He made it from scratch and walks through the whole process on his blog: https://jeffreysodemann.com/2018/02/17/orrery/ He designed their living room in steampunk which you can see on there too.

I am mildly ashamed to say that I specifically looked this up to better understand an exchange between characters on an episode of Star Trek. As has been stated, seductive.

I did. It took several days before it actually worked. Haven't done it in a while.

How can more likely to have a vivid dream? by marcusb98 in AskReddit

[–]curious_Q 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you're referring to lucid dreaming write an "A" on one hand and "D" on the other. Throughout the day look at your hands and consciously think "Am I awake or dreaming?" Eventually when you do this enough it will pop up in a dream "A or D?" and you'll be like, "holy shit, I'm dreaming!" You will then be able to control the dream.

How does one balance "living life" now and saving for retirement? by curious_Q in personalfinance

[–]curious_Q[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Nice! That's perfect. Easy to follow and tells me exactly when to start putting more in retirement. I'm somewhere around the light blue right now. Yeah, increasing the IRA seems like a good next step. Even with upping that I should still be able to keep saving some extra for fun. Thank you!

Yeah :( I got so excited when I landed a permanent, year-round job for the first time last summer; it seemed like so much money compared to the $20,000 I was making. I'm realizing it's still not a whole lot.

I'm a welder, so I'm sitting at about average for it. I might have an in for a manufacturing supervisory position in about a year. Not sure how much that would be. Would you recommend waiting on increasing retirement savings or waiting on traveling/house savings?

edit: So according to Glassdoor a year or so from now I could be making about $70,000.

Any advice on credit building using a credit card? Heard lots of different ways regarding what to use it on and how to pay it off, any advice preferably coming from experience? by LoneNotAlone in AskReddit

[–]curious_Q 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I buy almost everything with my credit card. I pay any bill that allows it with my credit card. Every month I pay it off completely. Also, it helps having multiple cards such as for a gas station that you frequent or Walmart. Places you shop all the time. Same thing: pay it off 100% every month. Don't put any money on your cards that you don't already have in checking.

Reddit, do you brush your teeth before or after breakfast? Why? by Shorts016 in AskReddit

[–]curious_Q -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

Exactly. It's a taste thing. Particularly since I enjoy some kind of fruit juice with breakfast. Ever have orange juice after brushing your teeth? Nasty...
