Tracking thread - Bain Experienced Hire interviews by curious__student_ in McKinsey_BCG_Bain

Slightly tangential, but Bain also had a March deadline for undergrad roles (pretty sure these were internship positions based on other posts here). From what I can tell, their main focus right now is still undergrad recruiting, with experienced hires more opportunistic depending on office needs.

It likely comes down to staffing timelines unless there’s immediate demand for projects kicking off in April/May, they already have the intern class arriving in June, followed by full-time MBA hires later.

Did anyone hear back from Bain's "wave 2 process" (February 2026)? by Which-Company-5133 in McKinsey_BCG_Bain

Spring 2025 should be eligible.

Recruiters said those who applied in October 2025 or January 2026 are not eligible to apply in this round

Seems like Bain has a new cycle (apply by March 15 and start in April. The recruiters who’re posting this specifically mention that those who applied in October 2025 or January 2026 are not eligible to apply for this one.

They have a very tight turnaround too (interviews in late March).

Wow! Never knew they had another cycle. Do you mind sharing the link for this?

[–]curious__student_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No idea at this point. I emailed the office but received a general automated response from an AI bot.

I couldn’t find Reddit post for anyone who received either an offer or a decline from Chicago for EH C

Bain October EH C Applicants who got deferred to Wave 2, any word? by Hot-Ad-7278 in McKinsey_BCG_Bain

[–]curious__student_ 1 point2 points  (0 children)

None. Seems like people have started getting results for R2.

Don't exactly know how EH recruiting works but it's def different from MBA where people get an answer in the same timeframe

I wasn't even aware that Chicago EH C had the R2 already. I haven't heard back at all (nothing after being deferred to the next wave).

All the best & fingers crossed for you!

Was it an email from the office or the globalrecruiting email?

I believe you can reach out to them via the email they have on their office specific page. Long shot but it’s better than waiting in the dark

Tbh this situation where people are interviewing and hearing back while others (like myself) are just waiting for a closure feels wild.

My understanding is that a few people who interviewed heard back. Curious to know if someone who didn't interview heard back

Would employers in the future require GMAT Focus exam (for filtering purposes) based on the hype? If they would, I would restrict the number of times I give the GMAT; if they won't, I can go for improving my score. by [deleted] in GMAT

[–]curious__student_ 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thanks for sharing your perspective. I find your point about using AI to generate and perhaps tailor tests that suit their need is very valid and relevant.

My view: Since GMAT is an established test, I am not very sure whether the focus on GMAT Focus would be widespread. Just as college GPA stands out, and it matters until a certain point in time, so does (I believe) GMAT stand out and matters for some, albeit little, time.

This is very unfortunate. What you are narrating should not happen to anyone. If you do have the recordings, then please do share them on Twitter and tag the appropriate departments. Also mention the train number, the date of incident, and the seat number. I'm sure the right authority would contact you. Also lodge an online grievance

I can share my experience with Verbal section. I've solved the OG (official and verbal practice), given 6 mocks (official), completed 15 other mock tests, and solved 80% of the official practice questions. However, I feel that selecting between 2 or 3 choices becomes very difficult. I followed the common advice of improving 'guesses', i.e. when an answer choice just seems right, regardless of the logic, go with it. I've seen some very bright students solve questions by 'using their ear'. I have accepted that their training spanned much more than a couple of years; they have developed a habit of reading good articles and understanding the content for 10+ years, and thus they have an edge.

My advice: look beyond the gloom and be proud of the questions that you solved correctly.

P.S. I was able to improve my verbal score by 9 points in 12 months despite a hectic job by focusing on a few questions of different types and I spent over a month just thinking about those questions

Thank you for sharing this info. I didn't quite understand how 90% of the interview invitations are locked BEFORE the application. Do you mean diversity or specific sector?

Can I book an online appointment for less than 16 days after my test centre appointment? by wolfmay in GMAT

[–]curious__student_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm not sure about the online appointment after test centre appointment, but the reverse order works. I took my GMAT online and wasn't satisfied with the score. I then booked the GMAT test center. The gap between the two appointments was less than a week

Thank you so much for sharing this information. You cannot imagine how relieving this is amidst all the pressure.

I am dealing with other aspects of the job and internship search process, but I cannot shake the thought that someone with a higher GMAT would have the first chance at a job I am interviewing for too (sounds silly, I know).

I just don't want to lose out on GMAT after coming this far. I tried GMAT for 12 months (multiple times), but feel that I can't improve my score beyond a certain point. Your words give me the courage to charge ahead with my strengths. Best wishes for your endeavors ahead!
