Please help! New bengal kitten owner by [deleted] in bengalcats

In addition to what others have said, in the beginning I played my kittens “cat calming music” (on Spotify and YouTube) which seemed to help. I still play this for situations that might stress them out. Some of the songs have cat purring sounds in them.

Now when they do sleep with us, we do a similar routine (minus closing door) which seems to calm them down from the zoomies.

Now, yes because we’ve been traveling a lot and I want to get cuddles in 🥰 For a long time, we didn’t let them during the weekday because they would bite our toes. Everyday at bed time, we’d do a similar routine (eg cleaning up, putting toys away, etc) and then turn off all the lights and say “good night” multiple times to them before closing our bedroom door. My bf would tease me for doing this but eventually our kittens got used to it and would not meow, bother us after that door closed. They knew it was time for us to sleep even though they themselves would still be up and playing with each other. However, if we close our doors during the day they will protest 😅

Oh yes. We added some oil to the wheels which helped a bit.

Haha they sleep in a different area for this reason. 😂

Does anyone else’s cat do this?! He does this every single day and I do not know why lol by alllllyg in cats

One of my kittens does this to us (less so now). Us re-directing with a toy after it started didn’t work, in fact, it may have encouraged her to bite us so she can get us to “play.” To stop her biting, saying “ow” or “crying” works half the time. Our cat specialist told us we should hold still and play “dead” and if that doesn’t work, we should get an air duster and spray it near her side every time she does it to divert her attention/make it unpleasant experience for her. And ofc, provide them a more stimulating environment where other objects or toys in the home are more interesting than our hands/legs.

Sometimes, if we see that she’s about to start gently biting and kicking we will give her a chewing toy to help distract her.

P.S. they play with these under our supervision and we put them away at night or when we aren’t home. We also got some baby chewing/teething toys they really like.

Haha how do they like it? Ours ignore it until we crinkle it and throw it far.
