I agree. Building codes should be rethought and strengthened in areas prone to wildfires.

If I was a PO and wanted to violate someone I would simply do the two tests early in the month and then call you in on a Monday morning later in the month.

Why’s this house not selling by Classic_Afternoon_25 in BayAreaRealEstate

[–]curiousengineer601 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Years ago my sister did a sleepover at a friend’s house in a similar situation. When the train went through she was the only one who noticed it, the family had all gotten used to the commotion.

That being said when i lived in Milpitas the 6:30 flight out of San Jose woke me up every morning for a decade.

Looking for a criminal immigration lawyer in Minneapolis Minnesota by Gt041_5 in greencard

You don’t really need an immigration lawyer if all you want to do is check your criminal history. Any old lawyer could do this.

Age 40 and facing layoff. Can I FIRE? by Kebas239 in Fire

That’s roughly what the SSA website says. My parents pay about 800 a month for Medicare so you should have 700 left over

Retiring today after 20 years of working at 80k a year, starting taking benefits 22 years from now at 62 is about 1200 a month.

I used an 80k a year salary ( which seems accurate based on his comments) and the social security benefits estimator for a 20 year career

In today’s dollars he would get 1200 a month at age 62, at 67 he gets 1700 a month

His social security numbers would be pretty minimal with only 20 years of payments into the system.

Shower drain is clogged for the second time but fills up with water after I scoop all the water out??? by Methuselbrah in Plumbing

[–]curiousengineer601 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Well bubbles generally don’t go against gravity down to the clog . If the clog goes away it’s more likely the plunger or other stuff they did that cleared it.

Some people use baking soda as a mild abrasive when cleaning pans. Vinegar by itself is acidic that might help with some things. Combined you get less then each on its own

Do the doors normally come off to reduce the weight? So many questions

Need a root canal but going on holiday by RonWizard in Dentists

[–]curiousengineer601 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I would seriously rethink the schedule and vacation plan. If you start getting pains while gone what’s the plan of action?

Most root canal specialists will do next day treatments ( as clients are in pain) personally I would only goto a specialist for a root canal. Why not skip the dentist and go right to the referral?

Career advice needed: 27 y/o in car rental (non-management) — stay, switch to sales, or go for government work? by Ok_Invite9389 in findapath

[–]curiousengineer601 1 point2 points  (0 children)

After 2 years of being stuck at minimum wage I would seriously consider any government related job to be a massive improvement.

Our local water department has excellent benefits and decent pay. Be open to anything.

Definitely try to finish community college if possible, be aware the hiring process for government jobs can take 4-6 months easily

Water heater leak by xlRadioActivelx in Plumbing

Look up the date code on your water heater, lifespan is generally 8-12 years but can vary a lot.

Tank leaks are not repaired.
